Suspension Will Raise When System Cooled

Can anyone give me any advice on this message that has just came up. The suspension is taking ages to raise. telling me first that Suspension Vehicle is raising slowly. Then Suspension Will raise when system cooled.

The compressor is overheating. Did you do a lot of raising and lowering, if you see what I mean, shortly before the message appeared?

On my last D3 I got both of these messages and the car would not raise at all, the cooling message appeared even if the car had been parked up. I was told that the suspension raising slowly message on its own is not a fault (infact I have had it once or twice on my new D3).

As Winger said above if the suspension was raised and lowered a few times in a short period you can also get the cooling message.

Has your car had the enhancement done yet?

Had the Enhancement program done 10 days ago. The suspension fault when dropping to access mode had gone.

Not heard of any of these problems post enhancement - maybe the enhancement was not completely successful. It sounds like your dealer needs to take a look.

Let us know how you get on

After upgrade it goes from access to offroad 1.5 times then it reads raising slowly then you get the over heat msg. Its a PITA but normal to protect the compressor. I'd asked them to switch it back but they wont

sorry but it doesn't sound right - unless the 'demonstration mode' was invoked for a long period... Yes, the number of cycles is reduced and the compressor has two temperature monitoring points, but it shouldn't go into overtemperature so quickly (i'm guessing at 3-6 raise operations) although it's possible that the compressor box is so full of muck (unlikely if you've recently had the enhancement programme carried out) that this could be preventing the compressor cooling properly. If you start getting the overtemperature messages in normal operation, then I'd suggest a electromechanical fault with the compressor Sad
