I would like to know when Danhag are going to answer some emails I have sent them three or four now and not had any reply.

When I tested the black wire and heard the thump with my ignition on, I was using the feed from the cigar lighter just to test the black wire with the green & white wire bud sorry if this confused you .

But if you try it with the ignition off you should still here the thump.

The blck wire does indeed have something to do with the fans, and would love to know what, all I have done is connect the main feed that had the fuse on to the aux battery, since then not had any problems with flat cranking battery since even after three full runs on the FBH and fans.

It would be great if we could isolate the FBH and just run it all of the aux battery..

I am 80% happy with my setup at the moment but would like to see more air flow to the screen.

But we defo need some answers on the air flow and flaps from Danhag or Daniel, lets see if flydive can get any info out of him.

Flack,

in my situation the Recirculation thumb only sounded with the ignition on and at the same time connecting the permanent 12v (the one with the red wire) to the green/white. with the ignition off it did not thumb. do you hear the thumb as well when the danhag controls the fbh?
Earlier we were told by Danhag that the red/white from the cable loom should be connected to the ignition as it controls air flaps. Is it clear exactly what about which flaps this wire controls?
Gosh, how I would love some answers from Danhag Big Cry

Could it be that cars having the 30 minutes problem are MY 2007 or later. i.e. the ones that don't have a red wire on the fbh connector in the engine bay? Mine is MY2007 and doesn't have that wire.
It was suggested by IanP that there might be a difference in pre 2007 and 2007 onwards cars in this matter as from that moment also this wire was eliminated.

In webasto's diagnostics software manual something is described about outside temp related burning times. They seem to have a control unit "Telestart T100 HTM" that does that. Perhaps in dick dastardly's case, it is a legacy of his Webasto T90 remote?

My D3 is a 2006 hse and has no original red wire to the fbh. I had to insert a new pin so i take it there never was this earlier feature. Im only gettin a 30 min burn of the fbh whilst under control by the danhag equip?

My FBH is a 2007 and it did not have the wire in the FBH, I still have my oval timer, I might just hook it up and set it for a 40 min burn and see if that works.

I think we have had some conflicting stories about the wiring, I have said before that the loom was not of high quality considering what it cost.

Hi Flack
I think (and I stand to be corrected) that the oval timer will only give a run time of a ½ hour, (well the unit I had on my boat did and I think is the same as the oval timer you are using) I had to change the unit to a different type from Webasto to get it to run the extra time, so what I am trying to say is that I am not sure if this will tell you any thing more, however it would be worth a try. Smile
I am sorry but I haven’t got around to fitting mine, hopefully a job for this weekend, then I might be able to help with my input of how long I can get it running for. Rolling Eyes
Has anyone had a reply from Daniel, it’s a shame he isn’t standing by his product and offering support for it a bit more?!?

Just came off the phone with Daniel.

- the ICPU freezes the vents at the position they where at car shut down.
- If you want more air at the windscreen you have to remember to select it at shut down
- Webasto running time, is programmed in the heater itself, it seems that there are different types installed, can be anything between 30 and 255 mins. He's looking into it.

The correct email to send your questions is

info@danhag.de

I also asked him again to check the thread from time to time.

Thats basically what I found on my testing, but it does shut the outside vent flap because you can here it close, but if we can increase the burn time then it would be great..

Mallo

Yes bud sounds the same I am happy with my setup now apart from a longer burn ( if possible) . I think if you are on the wbus connection then we are stuck with the time limit, but I think if you can use the othere setting it will run on you can get a longer burn, will have to wait and see what Daniel comes up with.... Big Thanks to all who contributed to this extended post, I have been reading with great interest and is getting closer to running mine, just need some help please. I also have 2009 model without red wire in pin2 of the FBH, and have some pins salvaged from my RRsport seats, but not sure which of the following to use( I tried to get one of the existing pins out of the FBh plug to compair but no luck):

2 of the 3 options in second photo, will connect to round pin where the 3rd one is the biggest and will connect to square pin, or will all 3 work. I did manage to get Yellow through the fire wall with the aid of hole where aux battery cables run, manual gearbox D3 already use the hole mention in old remote FBH post.

It was mentioned that a manual start of the FBH can be activated by connecting 12v to the green wire" has some one achieved this and what's involved?

Thanks

Hi pal nice to see you taking the plunge. Im not the best qualified on D3's but the pins do look quite similar although you buy the actual pins in the d3 shop for a small fee. There is a clip that retains the pins that you need to slide to 1 side before inserting the pin and sliding back once the pin is inserted. This holds everything in place when you plug it back into the fbh. There is a link with pics and info i think earlier in this post or certainly on the site.

As for the perm feed on a switch so you can just turn it on i have just put a feed from my fridge which is always live through a led sw and to the green wire. It just works the same as if you have dialed the gsm and activates the green led on the gsm module.

Good luck anyway and hope this helps you at least abit.

Cheers Ceekay

No 3 looks like the best one, if you have an old sound lead from a pc that connected to a cdrom then you can use one the pins out of that just cut the plug to get one out, thats what I have in my connection to pin 2, or just use it to compare No 3 pin of yours..

The pins are square if my memory is correct so you should be ok . Once you remove the plug from the FBH as seen below you can push the pins on the FBH pins anyway to check which one fits the best.

I have a switch in the car that lights up when i use it to start the FBH manually while parked up, just connect a 12 volt live to the green wire via a switch and your done.

This is the plug bud that Ceekay mentioned this from the original FBH remote install..

Above the number two pin marking is a pink slider, with a Morse
code “dash dash dot” look.
Using your straightened out paperclip again GENTLY press into the right hand side of the second dash so
that the paperclip is at 45 degrees and pushing towards the ‘dot’. The pink slider should move a couple of
mm until the pimple that was at the right of the second dash ends up in the dot.
This slider locks all the connectors into the plug – this movement isn’t much, but it’s enough to unlock all
the connectors so that they can be added or removed.
Look for the barb on the connector you’re about to fit. When you fit it, the barb points towards the pink
slider. Note that the connectors I’ve found are far from perfect; although they’re functional there is a lot of
slack and it doesn’t fit tightly, Don’t worry about this – it’s a tight fit on the FBH pin, and this is the most
important thing.
Fit the connector into hole number two.

Having had just the GSM unit wired in temporarily for the last few weeks, I have finally finished off my conversion of the harness to what I think should have been for a very nearly plug-and-play D3 installation with the two control modules installed behind the lower glove box.

Got all this installed nice and neatly this afternoon Smile Not quite fully installed in this pic though, the yellow and blue connectors plug together, and the aux power socket take-off wiring goes between the aux socket and its normal plug.

However my GSM module has decided it doesn't want to work anymore Sad It sits with a flashing red LED (no network) no matter what SIM card I put in. I've checked the SIM that was in it in a phone handset and it receives and sends SMS and calls OK, so it would appear not to be the SIM.

It did work the first time it was connected to the new harness this afternoon, forwarding on a few network SMSs to the master number, but after unplugging and plugging back in, it's decide it doesn't want to play Sad Even with my temporary harness with just power, ground and FBH connections it's not working. I've now got it on a 12V supply in the house so I can try various things in the warm Smile

Does anyone know if there's a "full reset" option, to clear it back to factory default settings so I can start again with it?

The only thing that seems to reset is the password when you loose power, I found if your to close to the GSM when you dial it the GSM will fail every-time and the LED will stay red until you cut the power and then restate it Have you tried moving away from the car .. Some guys have got it to work by just ringing the unit again.
