FFRR or Second D3... ?

Question What should I do...

I'm completely sold on the Discovery Mr. Green Only had it a few months and love it so much. It's technically my wife's car though (that'll be Antoniasmum, then).

She don't like my S4, especially in the snow Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter so I don't get to use the D3 much.

Soooooooo........ I was thinking of buying an additional (older) D3. Then I thought I could maybe get an FFRR instead, plenty around at 15k or so.

Anyone had both? What do you think? And, am I mad to think about having two complicated Land Rovers...

EDIT: typo

friend who lives inthe highlands has stuck winter tyres on his S4,, said last night it hasnt put a foot wrong yet.

If you do get a 2nd d3,, make sure it's not as pretty as hers,, or she'll nick it off you

FFRR Thumbs Up

I'm thinking of that. Got Vreds on the D3. There's more to this though than the power / grip tyres equation; it's an S4 convertible, so the windows have hilariously been freezing onto fabric roof overnight, so you can't get in. If you get in you can't shut the door. And, the view out of the small rear window is minimal, not ideal. Does have heated seats though Thumbs Up

Discovery - all round brilliant. Apart from the lack of heated seats Big Cry

Got heated rear seats on both of mine!! Whistle Whistle

Problem with any normal car is them coping with the depth of snow like this without a lot of shovelling to get to the ploughed road.

I did, the path was for me to get to the car. Thumbs Up

To be fair the level snow was a little shallower as that was a mini drift that built up in the lee side of the car.

At the risk of taking lots of flack, I'd go FFRR for the 2nd car! D3 is brilliant but why not have a different second motor? Whistle

My neighbour has just got his D4 back after it was on loan to his boss who wanted a tow bar.

Recons it's slow now - he was driving a RRS Supercharged Thumbs Up But another option? Though I'd probably think a FFRR would be a bit more upmarket Thumbs Up

Needs to be cheap. Can't get an RRS under £20k really. Supercharged £30k odd.

Plenty of FFRRs around though, at 12-15k. Some even look OK at that money!
