Remote Locking from KeyFob not working (Again)
Ok, so a few months ago I reported here that my Remote Locking from the keyfob stopped working. It didn´t work for a month, or maybe more. Tried spare key, no joy... Didnt get time to send it into the local stealer, who probably wouldn´t have a clue anyway and would use 50man hours and replace every part known to mankind.
Anyway, the point is that one day it started working again, everything was fine and dandy once again. Didnt do anything different, it just worked.
That was about a month ago, so worked for 4 or 5 weeks no problem.
Yesterday. Stopped working again. How annoying is that ?
It must be a connection somewhere on the receiver unit maybe ? Any ideas ?
Thanks.

Most likely cause would be the green and white wire from the receiver to the CJB. Seen a couple with faults along this wire.

Great, thanks.
Can you help point me in the right direction to sort this error out ?
I have no idea even where the green and white wire would be.
Cheers.

Thanks for any advice.

remote receiver
the remote receiver is situated behind the head lining in between the centre front seats behind the light trim.the common fault is the splice joint for the green wire or green/white wire which is located behind the tread panel in the left front door area in the wiring loom.open loom and inspect splice under the blue sticky tape? good luck 8)

Re: remote receiver
Probably a silly Q, as I am new to all this... I have a left hand drive model, will the loom still be on the left ?
Any pictures anyone, of what I should be looking for ?
What will the fault in the splice joint ? Just not connecting, or what ?
Thanks for all your help. Appreciate it. Great Forum.
Cheers.

More Help!!
Help!!
I'm trying to make this repair too, but don't fully understand were I'm looking.
If I'm sat in the passenger seat of a RHD car, is the treadplate mentioned directly in front of me? Or is it to the left side, near the bonnet release handle? Or is it another name for the sill cover?
About to start pulling the trim of my car apart, so any help would be gratefully received!!
Thanks

I have exactly the same issue so, I've removed both the roof lining down and the wiring loom cover, I've located the receiver unit and there's two wires that run to it 1) a green/white wire and 2) a blue wire.
I traced along the wires and I can find no splice - although a large proportion is hidden within the loom itself. It runs down the near side A post and disappears out of view.
I've checked with a multimeter and there's not 12V on the green/white wire, but I'm reticent to do any more until someone can shed some light on the issue.

Lurcher,
the red wires will most likely be the illumination to the window switches on the doors, it was on mine, and along the loom just about level with the front of the seat will be the two or three green/white wires that all go together in a one ended black sealed terminal, on mine this looked as good as new , but i cut it of anyway and re-joined them together and it fixed my problem,
hope this helps
This is the offending conector

Could you please tell me if the connection to repair is located in the loom next to the front passenger seat or the rear?
