Lurcher,
the red wires will most likely be the illumination to the window switches on the doors, it was on mine, and along the loom just about level with the front of the seat will be the two or three green/white wires that all go together in a one ended black sealed terminal, on mine this looked as good as new , but i cut it of anyway and re-joined them together and it fixed my problem,
hope this helps
This is the offending conector
Andy
spent the last 3 hours looking for this sealed terminal, i cant see it
looks like it might have to go to the dealers..

I found the join, cut it out and recrimped it but to no avail...
Then, on TFC's advice I unplugged the battery and left it for 20mins and when I reconnected it the remote fobs worked fine. So I locked the car and left it and now the fobs don't work again, 30 minutes later and neither does the radio -------------------------------------------------------------------

Mines still in the dealers, they tell me the roof lining needs to come down, they think it's a wiring fault!

This is really depressing me- what is the answer? My fobs worked on and off for the last couple of months and now dont work at all. I am not up to rewiring but can point a local garage at it, but I need to know this is the problem. I have tried a new battery in the key. Is there a fuse I should check?
I am getting very fed up with the Disco3 - I had a Landcruiser for 6 years and clocked 200k miles without it missing a beat. Now I seem to spend my time trying to resolve electrical faults and warning lights!

Mine had the same issue, Stratstones PDI department sorted it out, it was a connection somewhere in the loom, that had gone dry, so worked some times, but not others. Think they said the connection was in passenger footwell on my car

Mine's worked fine since I got it back,
They fitted a new receiver, reprogrammed the key
They also said they repaired a wiring fault the the foot well.

OK that's reasonable - maybe I'll sleep tonight. I have been dreading a large bill to fix this....along with other issues with suspension and bluetooth. I do miss my Landcruiser although nothing compares with the interior of the Landrover I just wish it was more robust.
NOW I find out that the 05 D3 was a very unreliable version when it comes to electrics..... ah well.
thanks for that

Sorry for resurrecting another old thread and to an extent repeating myself, but I know people sometimes monitor threads they've contributed to and this one's had lots of contributors!!
I have the same dreaded no locking problem and after finding some dampness under the front passenger carpet, strongly suspect it's the 'green and white wire spice' issue... But having pulled the car apart and de-taped the wiring loom from almost halfway back along the seat, up to near the door hinge, I can't find the green / white wire splice or connector.
Am I being blind? Must it be there? Mines an early (2004) car - so could it be somewhere else?
Those of you who didn't find it immediately - did you ever have any luck? This is driving me nuts!! Please help! Thanks.

OK. Keep looking! I found mine eventually just over two thirds of the way back along the seat base. And it cured the problem. Yay!

I feel like I'm going mad!! Have got the tread plate up and cut the tape holding them together so I can get into the loom however am unable to find the offending connector....perhaps I'm in the wrong place??
I've pulled up the tread plate on the front passenger side and have worked my way along from the bonnet release to as far as the b pillar...things get a bit tight then!
Am I in the right place and just need to carry on looking or have I misinterpreted the thread here?
Does anyone have any pictures of where they found the connector?
