As explained to me by the very knowledgeable Steve Norman, the EUIV engine monitors the airflow change when the EGR valves are operated. If the EGR's are blanked, there is no change in air flow and a fault is logged illuminating the dash warning light.
EUIII engines do not monitor this change and hence do not illuminate the lamp. EUIII engines will still log faulty egr codes however, but these do not illuminate the warning lamp.Andy

Excellent instructions thank Wiggs
I recommend people avoid dropping the actuator unit between the block and the radiator.

Excellent instructions. Fitted 2 blank kit yesterday (never played under the bonnet before) and its made such a difference when driving it. Only issue I had was v corroded 8mm bolts (x4) so ordered some of TLO and all is good. A maasive thank you to all and instructions on the site.2011 Discovery 4 HSE
