Seeing as there are now quite a few out-of-warranty vehicle owners registered on here now, I thought it might be useful to compile a list of components failing after the warranty has expired...
The idea is to make a composite list so those with vehicles about to run out of warranty can check those specific items, please also state the approximate mileage / kilometre-age when the failure occured

Could be... but as this is a global list (hopefully!) that info would probably be meaningless given the wide range of dealer rates. Also, it wouldn't be helpful to turn it into a 'my favourite dealer' thread

Is it also of interest to know what 'wore out' before its time while still in warranty? I'd say its possible, if not likely, that these sorts of things will come up as low mileage, previously cherished vehicles start to get a bit older.
- EGR valves @40k
- ARB bushes @40k
- Gearbox seals @60k
- Rear bearings @40k, 60k

Mine's just gone through it's MOT, just before the warranty expired. Needed 5 new wheels - they were peeling and nothing to do with any off-road activities , two new headlights (adaptive at ~£485ish each - odd different price for left and right ), and a new thermometer thingy to regulate the cabin temperature.
As caught just be before warranty expired obviously covered but in total about £2k plus worth of bits. It failed its MOT on the lights and they would not adjust to bring them legal so wasnt something, like the wheels, I could have lived with. D3 HSE V8...

Since it's a good idea
- Gearbox seals - two days of dealer time (not bad given the number of bits that need to be removed to get the gearbox out)
- One wheel bearing - about half a day of dealer time
- The other ones - can't remember because it was a while ago.

with hourly rates as high as they are... extended LR warranty looks cheap if you have problems like that. Welcome to the Global Warming Corner.

Mine going into dealer tomorrow, investigation of droning noise from front of vehicle at motorway speed. Suspected front diff. I'll confirm tomorrow. 110kmiles.
I knew I'd given it the kiss of death when I boasted no out of warranty costs the other day

Must admit, with the price of my replacement lights being almost the same as the extended warranty, I went for it. D3 HSE V8...

I have the extended warranty and here's what it's covered in the last year;
2 Parking sensors have randomly given up at different times.
Drier unit in air suspension went pop.
Corrosion on wheels, both cosmetic and rim leakage - not covered by ex. warranty.
oh, and the EPB went bang on the very last day of the full warranty. Sail Fast - Live Slow...
