Try and get a 40mm test plug from a plumbers supply out let. It makes a one man job of it, just put it in and tighten. It does need to be wrapped in something else as it is abou 5mm too small. The 50mm is too large, if only they made a 45mm!

Mine (coil-sprung) has the screw bottle jack and I had to use it in anger within two days of getting the car, when a sizeable nail speared a front tyre. Wheels chocked, etc., then inspect the jack. Good God Almighty - it's been designed by the bloke who gave us the cast-iron tow hitch! A tiny little jigger with a complex series of bits of wire for a handle! Must have cost a fortune to design and manufacture!
It worked OK but looked a bit teetery and was sloooow, so it now lives in the shed, awaiting the innocent who buys the Disco when I have sucked all the goodness out of it, and in the boot is a compact, fast-acting hydraulic bottle jack, made in Japan, and retailing at around $25 at the local car accessories place.
