Is this to differentiate the 250bhp engine from the detuned 200'ish version of the 3.0litre Idea I seem to recall Jaguar have some such way of naming their perfomance version Question

Given that TD stood for 'Turbo Diesel' one can only speculate that this means 'Sports Diesel' and follows Dexters theory.

Sports ? ...which sport ? a freakin Sack Race??

Not guilty on the Sport theory, but could be ...........

S-mooth diesel
S-ought after diesel
S-hort of two cylinders diesel
S-mart money diesel
S-mokin diesel (when/if the EGRs fail)

The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."

guessing here but it would be "super" if they could "charge" even more power into the 3.0 litre ????
Discovery 4 the greatest 4wd on the planet. LandRover the worst customer service imaginable. Do you have to put up with one to experience the other? Apparently yes!!!!

I like the way you call an 'S' spec version basic. My D3 'S' has more toys than a D4 'GS'.
