sadly it can't be explained for a few weeks
due to the need to hold to embargo dates.
vast majority will agree with awfulness though Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Awful enough to want a 2010 instead of 2011?
I would appreciate an answer to this question.

Not going to find out on here, a public forum - suggest you ask your friendly dealer who will let you know if you're planning to order a 2011 model. It'll be no big deal to most, same as all the other cosmetic changes e.g. colour coded bits which become the norm after a few weeks and make the older models look dated more quickly. But that's marketing for you
Still the same vehicle and that's why I'm sticking to LR / RR for the next 3 years.

Not if he wants to keep his franchise he won't ..............as SN states there is an info embargo on all 2011MY changes for a few weeks yet 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
so if there is an embargo...how comes non-LR people on here have alluded to this "secret" on the forum...?The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

And of course, with this forum being completely independant from Land Rover it hasn't got a franchise to lose - there is no real reason not to let people know
I didn't see people refusing to share spy/mule photos of the D4 or LRX etc - quite the opposite, but for some reason a LR letter change (or whatever it is) is the biggest inside industrial secret known to mankind
Alluding to an "awful" change and then not letting people know what it is when it is affecting their purchasing decisions is not really in the community spirit to be honest. Forums live from speculation and insider gossip
My conspiracy theory is that the "S" change is to do with the TDV6 naming convention of the engine, but I guess if LR's marketing legal department don't absail down from Go Beyond branded black helicopters and break down my office door within the next 4 minutes, then I'm probably wrong.2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Didn't we all the same discussion last year when the D4 showed up through LR pictures with photoshoped bonnet lettering ...
RR names is droppping soon enough on the LR Range, we all know that and we also know that the D4 will eventually be replace by a 7 seater RRS (which it is already, isn't it) then bear in mind that automobile range changes / new models are always introduces though facelifting to get the public used to a upcoming change/renewal, then make up your mind and get a grip for a couple of week lads.
(I am note saying this is what thoses guys dropped here, ok - I do not know myself- but 1+1=2 most of the time...)
Anyway, don't we have far more important matter to worry about ?
guess not then !

You miss out the element of 'suspense' Paul ....and I don't believe for one minute that a some sad old men grumbling about their petty dislikes on a forum are going to influence people to buy a car or not .21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
