Hello all,
Recently picked up a 2006 Metropolis in Zermatt Silver. Really pleased with it.
Massive history and everything always done by the look of the paperwork!
The forum has been a massive help pre purchase and I'm sure even more help post purchase.

Hello from Tanzania
Hello from Tanzania. Recently brought a disco 3 2007 TDV6 SE auto in grey. Always wanted one but could never really justify living in London but now I am negotiating African roads the 4x4 is almost essential. The car was imported from the UK in 2013 and has been well looked after with 117000 miles on the clock, I love it.
A few things wrong with it but probably nothing that can't be fixed fairly easily but perhaps you disco gurus can offer some advise. My instrument panel keeps on shutting down when driving, sometimes completely and other times the digital display centrally, the connectors are sound so I can only assume it's the panel itself. Is it just easier to buy a second hand/ new one or is there a fix ?
There is a sticky drivers side bonnet catch which I'll need to replace or clean as well
Oh and I have brought a new key as I only have one but need to get it programmed, trouble is its £600 (yes!)to do that here . I am coming back to the Uk in the next week and was wondering if there was a workaround so I could bring back what was needed from the car with the key to have it programmed. Might seem silly but I can't think what else to do.
Anyhow looking forward to being part of the forum

New owner checking in!!
After lurking on here for years, and lusting after a D3 for longer, we finally took the plunge and bought one yesterday.
Lots of advice on here, (thank you!!!) avoided one that I thought was ok, but ended up not being.
Found one a couple of roads away whilst walking the dog, the very D3 I have been admiring for the last 3 years ever since we moved house and drove past it every day. It had a for sale sign in the window.
Long story short, very nice spec D3 XS on a 58 plate, Silver with Black Leather Auto. Full history, Part Dealer, part MJA 4x4 Bromsgrove. Belts done, new alternator and battery, Its just what we wanted, so we agreed a price and collected yesterday.
I am in love already!!
Couple of minor things to do. Test the towbar electrics (previous owner never used them!), paint the fixed towbar as its a big scruffy looking, buy and fit some side steps (my Mum can't reach to get in even with the suspension dropped to access height!)
Utterly fantastic car. Just got to get the second key working which has been left in the kitchen drawer for ages, so I'm hoping it will come back to life. Going to try "taping it to the other key" for a while to see if it will charge up................ thanks for the idea on this!!!

It's in the prime zone for oil pump casting giving way, then bye bye engine. I'd suggest that would be high up on the list of "to do" list.
Oh, and welcome!!

Thanks for that. Just checked the stack of paperwork.
Body off chassis, full belt change, brake pipes done, oil pump replaced............. tick!
Done in 2015, 10,000 miles ago.
Out of interest, what years are affected by the oil pump issue? I thought it was 2007 only? Mine is a November 2008 car, so nearly a 2009?
Thanks

Hello to all members of this forum, I´m Chris from Hamburg. I´ve got a D4 sdv6 hse built in 2012 my 2013. There are nearly no free garages specialized on the d4. The LR dealers in my area are very expensive and also not really experts in my opinion. So I have to "train" my free mechanic on this car and hope to get some support in this community. Chris

Hi all I'm a complete novice to discovery threes and have just bought my first one! It's a 2007 gs model with a 2.7 diesel. It's covered 107450 miles all of which I'm assured have been motorway and a roads. As I live near wales and the countryside I intend to change that!!

NEWBIE
Hi
Having lurked for ages, I've decided to take the plunge on a path to purchasing a D3 or 4. I'm an active member of several motorbike forums.....all of which have been hugely useful in terms of community spirit and knowledge. This one appears very much the same....
Cheers
Pete

Hi all.... Never been an owner but after much deliberation I've decided I want a D3 over a Vogue so I'm actively looking to buy.
