Hello
Just registered. Currently have a D2 with a real cooling/overheting issue.
Now seriously looking at early D4 to take over from the D2

Hi,
Just joined as looking at buying a Disco 3. I had a 96 Defender 90 300 TDI which I loved but a back injury has put paid to another. Currently own a 98 Toyota Colorado, 160k and only just starting to show its age with a few things going wrong. I'll probably go for an 05/06 HSE and it will be 2.7 diesel. I would prefer manual gearbox. Whats the thoughts? Also i have read that the timing belt tensioner breaking off the block is from 2007 onwards, is this right? Any VIN to check? Finally, a few threads have said change the oil pump when doing cam belts. Whats the reason for this and is the pump driven from the cam belt?
Thanks
David

Hi all,
just popping in to say hello.
I have just got the family D3, great car, love it.
This is my second car, the first being a Ferrari 360 Spider.
I have many plans for the D3, I have already got on order all parts i need to put the old girl back to her former glory.
I also plan to complete alot of projects I have read on here, like the d4 satnav conversion.

Hi,
Just joined, not actually got a D3 yet but decided i'm definitely going to buy one and i'm currently on the look out for a good late HSE. Recently sold my TDCI defender 110 and regretted it the day after i sold it, however i decided i needed something a bit more comfortable as i do around 30K miles a year.
Also have a 1959 Series 2 109 and a 1985 stage 1 V8
Cheers
Andy

Hi Martin,
Just bought a second-hand Disco3, moved up from a Freelander 2, needed more room for dogs and family/grandchildren. Really enjoyed the FL2 but hankered after something bigger and an automatic.
Only had the car for two days but very impressed so far. Lots of little things that i need to check in the manual, voice guidance,(can't hear it), power folding mirrors on ignition switch off, (doesn't do it) etc but i will get there.
The first tip i saw was the "it's fuel burning heater season" which was why i visited the site today because yes there is and now i need not worry.
regards
Mick

Hi all.
Been a member since buying my D3 just over a year ago but embarrassingly my first post. Want to congratulate everyone on a great forum, I have taken so much from it and thought it's about time I got involved.
I own a 2008 58 D3 HSE in Rimini Red with cream leather.........absolutely love it!
I've already added tints, side steps, DAB radio, V8 brakes, BAS FBHIC unit, Xanadoo boot basket and looking for more!
Bought it to replace my previous tow car (Ford Galaxy) for towing my twin axle caravan and can't believe just how good it is as a tow car, has certainly taken the stress out of towing.
Visited the LRO show in Peterborough last year and took it on the offroad section, twice in fact as the missus wanted a go...........I still have some nails and hair left!
Anyway, look forward to speaking to a few of you in the near future.
