Hello and thanks in advance for any advice given
Hi All,
I have been the proud owner of a Disco 3 HSE Auto which I bought new in September 2007. I absolutely love the car. I had it serviced with a main dealer for the first 6 years and then decided after I retired to try other garages.
I have just had the air suspension problem and had the compressor replaced (they used a Europart replacement which they said was half the price of a LR genuine part). The mechanic told me the problem with the original compressor was the it was underpowered and LR had upgraded the compressor. He replaced the compressor and it works fine but and a very big but - it is really noisy it sounds like a tank when when I start it from cold until it gets to normal height. He tells me this is because it is more powerful than the original.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Dad of two, living in a large village in County Durham. Bought a Discovery 2 last April, only to have to sell it as spares or repair in December due to chassis rot at the back.
Miss the car though, and after a month of staring at Defender 110 SWs, I've decided the D3 is the way to go.
Looking to pick one up in the next couple of weeks, and I'll see how things go.
Being 4th car in our family, I'm sensitive on road tax, which has me looking for an 05 plate manual with 7 seats.
Have a couple on the shortlist (one of which is a forum car), so any buying advice would be very much appreciated!2005 Discovery 3 HSE Auto

Hi,
Previous owner of the Disco II which I had for 10 years and bought the LR3. Both black and I have enjoyed being a Rover owner for almost 15 years! Looking to trade it up or keep it and add the Range Sports in a couple of years. Looking forward to all the advice in the forum from other proud owners.

New owner with 2.7 v 3.0 questions
Hi all, we have just purchased two discovery 4's. Both with knackered engines, both done in excess of 350k We have had new engines fitted, however one of the invoices says 2.7 and the other 3.0.
Is there a way to confirm if its a 2.7 or 3.0 tdv6?
There both commercials discovery 4's both say 3.0 on the logbooks both built in 2011.

Yo, new here and new to the world of DISCO for myself, but the family had them for a lot of my time as a kid. It's time i get my own, upgrading from a hand me down Jeep Patriot. Can't wait.
Here for advice and 4x4 fun times! OH and I'm looking for an auto black/dark grey D3 with dark interior. Got a budget of around ~£8k, looks like mini8334's is about to disappear, but if anyone's got anything lemme know!
Over to the wanted tab and time for me to get reading!

Hi there,
Another new meber. I am Joel, 41 years old from the Netherlands. Since 2 years owner of a 2004 Discovery 3 V8 on LPG. Fabulous car.
I joined this international Disco forum because there is little knowledge on the V8 model on the Dutch forums. 99% of the models sold over here is the TDV6.

Hello, I am new to this site, so wanted to say hello.
I am about to purchase a 2006 Disco 3.
I know vehicle as it is a friend who is owner. Automatic 2.7 diesel.
Miles 85483. Tow pack, running boards, all usual HSE kit.
Me I am retired Motor Engineer, love sailing proper yachts, Jaguar 27 yacht not car.
Riding my Triumph Bonnievelle se 900, or my Honda Deauville 680.
Part time marine engineer, hobby repairing and servicing small outboard engines,

Hi,
Seriously investigating the D3/4 as have a long standing LR itch to scratch and finally at a place in life where it makes sense (does it ever?)
Have only driven one so far, it didn't disappoint but while low mileage was completely without paperwork despite a few typical items clearly having been changed it was also not the ideal spec so walked away without too much sadness.
Been scanning this site for a few months, about to start looking and test driving with purpose, feel sort of prepared but many silly questions still at the back of my head (like how LR built a car that seats 7 adults (700kg) but only has 650kg available load?! and why does everyone seem to swap the attractive, manly D3 grill for the Essex FFRR style D4 grill? (That might just be a local fad?))
Any recommendations who to talk to in Dorset warmly welcome.

Hi all
Have recently bought a 2008 HSE in black back in November, we as a family love the car although it had and still has issues that are currently being resolved. No major regrets as I've wanted one for along time now having previously owned a pathfinder.
Anyway looking forward to having a good read and hopefully sharing my disco experience
