Hi 10forcash pleased to know I was nearly correct. I work in East Europe and other lovely places for my sins and you are right again, a clapped out old taxi will get anywhere. The amazing thing is that they seem to be able to get anything on the road and work, even if we have disgarded it 20 years ago.
Actually saw a Lada with a Vauxhall front bonnet and wings with Ford doors recently, went like a rocket, must have had a Jag engine in it.
When I first went to the USSR as it was then, it looked as if they had emptied all the scrap yards to get on the road.
I love it.

Hi everyone,
Just joined the forum, very pleased to find it!
Have a 7 month old D3 V6SE we have happily had no major issues with it and I should add I'm much more impressed than I thought I would be! (Wife chose it perhaps I should listen to her more often!)
regards to all

Hi Jeff, welcome to the site!
Glad to hear you're getting well with your D3, I think it's a case of 'join the club' really

Hi there
Just joined- as a prospective Discovery 3 owner.
Senior management has fortuitously decided that the Disco 3 is an ideal replacement for our ageing Galaxy, which conveniently keeps breaking down. She's not yet driven the Disco 3, but should be doing so some time in the week.
We're not LR virgins- I ran a 90 a decade ago and, whilst great fun, was permanently in a state of moderate broken-ness.
Looking forward to finding out the best deals on a new 7 seat basic -ish Disco 3 and buying it! Brian's Gibraltar contacts look pretty impressive- shall investigate imminently.

Hello,
Thought I would say a quick hello here after posting my order on the clothing topic, Martin please can we have some girlie fit stuff for girlfriends/wives and female Disco owners?
I haven't got a car yet but Martin very kindly lets me drive his 90. Recently I found myself doing some wading and road rallying in it and really enjoying it, so it's fair to say I have a blossoming affection for Land Rovers in general.
Hope you won't mind me occasionally popping in to say hi,
Helen

Martin is a dark horse Helen, welcome to the site. Brace yourself because we only have one other lady (to our knowledge) on site and she is in Australia, but copes well. Welcome again, see you at Billing I hope?

I suspect I will be dragged along It was great fun last year, never seen so many landies in one place or got so many waves as on the way over. Plus the huge range of things that people do to/with their LR is amazing. Hopefully I will be there in an orange T-shirt so as probably the only girl in one I'll be easier to spot than Martin (unless you all buy them for your wives and girlfriends - you know you want to!)
I shall get in trouble for being embarrassing if I witter on here too much though...

Hi All,
After lurking from almost day one, it's time to take the plunge. Thanks for all the informative stuff, it's been really useful. Company Disco II ES is about to go back (that'll annoy the tax man) and I'm scraping out the coffers to get an S or maybe SE. Can't wait. Other half says the D3's ride gives her motion sickness, so I'll have to save up for a bucket too...
