Phil, Burdocks,
Welcome.
I would love to hear the V8 doing its stuff ! Fantastic. By the way, what are you averaging MPG wise ?
Burdocks - driving the DISCO3 kinda gets to you doesn't it ? Not surprised you ended up ordering one. You will enjoy it immensely.
Cheers,

Welcome Phil, nice D3 by the sound of it. To stop the wife using all that fuel, move the driving seat further back, so she can't press the gas pedal down so far.

Soon to be new female owner of buckingham blue disc 3 |
|
Due to frequent travelling to France, I am changing my 2 year old MR2 for a Disco, I will be collecting it this week. To date I have only had one test drive and loved it. Driving position good, manual box suprising considering the size of the disco. Read all reviews and main concern is fuel consumption figures. Still finding it hard to wait for delivery though.
Looking forward to reading and responding to the forums on this site Allie

You are most welcome and your comments will be great to read. Just ask questions and if we can we will answer. The car is brilliant, look around the site and see what it can do.
Don't forget to join in the fun with the other guys, hard to keep up with them sometimes, but who cares it is a great site. The best Discovery site in the world.

Allie,
Welcome.
On your long hauls to France you should see 31 plus MPG if you cruise at around 70-75MPH. Not too bad and probably around the same as the MR2. I get around 580-600 miles on a tank. MPG will get better as the car gets run in. Early on you'll see high 20's MPG.
Hard to go faster though as the thing is soooo easy to sit at 90MPH and you'll still be in serene silence... which will kill your MPG of course.
Around Wales you'll probably see around 27MPG - I do Wales and Shropshire's hills a lot but still average 27MPG even with lots of pushing up long hills.
You'll love it, especially if you use the torque (peaks around 2.5Kk revs) and it'll hustle along very well once you get going.
Enjoy !
