Hi all
Great to have joined!
Just purchased my first disco 4 (2014) so facelift version. Hse luxury.
Pretty excited. I owned a 2008 range rover sport (v8 3.6) a beast but I much prefer the lr4 for its functional looks and more versitile usage!
Got a 2yr olf and twins on the way so I'm looking forward to lots of family adventures!

Discovery TD3 in Brittany ...
Hi - great to see this forum !
In May, I helped a friend in Brittany to import a superb LHD 2006 TDV6 HSE Auto ... mainly for use in towing a horse box with a 750kg horse ...
It's done just over 100,000 miles and drives superbly, but we have had huge problems with water entry - every day my friend has to sponge out big quantities of water from the driver side (LHS) foot-well ... with the water running through to the rear ..
The windscreen was found to have been replaced (badly) two years ago and had chips in it so that was replaced professionally 3 weeks ago. But the water continues to fill the floor ...
The sunroof operates correctly, so I checked the two drainage tubes and they seem to drain fine. But I know there are suspect joints that can perish ... so I sealed the sunroof with a strong tape, and the water entry persists ...
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem ?
We're getting desperate !
Thanks
Rich

2005 LR3 in UAE
New owner of a lovely LR3 - looking forward to getting to know her, and I'm pretty sure I won't be kept waiting!
Last green oval was a 1990 RR Classic, which I still regret selling.
I try do all my own maintenance and repairs. Got my iCarSoft scanner at the ready 8)
Vehicle is in great shape - looks new, actually - but also has a world-record cracked dash...
Wish me luck!

Newbie - Disco 3
Hi
I'm new to the Land Rover Discovery 3 world, I've recently purchased a Discovery 3 which was cheap (£2800) I brought it to save it being broken up for parts (stupid I know)
Good bits:
It starts and drives (drives lovely, drove it 50 miles home and went like a dream)
Has an MOT (10 Months)
6 Speed Manual
Dunlop Coil spring conversion
Now for the bad bits:
Parking brakes doesn't seem to work
Only has one key that only operates by the lock on the passengers side
No Service History although the pervious owner did say the cambelt had been done 40,000miles ago.
Some f*cker stole the spare wheel (guess this makes it a light weight now).
After speaking to some bloke down the pub he has basically put the fear of god into me saying the cambelt will snap and if that doesn't happen then the crankshaft will snap.
I also have a Land Rover Series 3 which is much less daunting than the Disco 3 as you pull leavers and metal bits move instead of you push a switch an hope something happens (or not in the case of the hand brake).
So question to fellow Disco 3 owners should I persevere or should I off load it cheap?
Also just how much of a ball ache is the cambelt to do?
This thread is generally just to say "hi", if you have any problems and/or questions maybe better to create a new thread in the relevant section and then hopefully you'll get an answer
and further to that ... fill in the car details in your profiles!! helps get more accurate answers !!.

Potential owner
Hi All, I have been toying with the idea of a Disco 4 for a couple of months now. A change in jobs has meant I no longer have a 200 mile round trip to work with it being only 8 miles now! We own a large twin axle caravan and have three children so the Disco could be the perfect car for us.
I have owned a variety of cars and tend to do all my own servicing/maintenance. I appreciate owning a Disco could prove costly as there are some common problems that appear. The biggest worry for me is the Crankshaft, is it worth getting the injectors sent away to make sure they are OK as this could be a potential cause of the problem?
Any help advice etc greatly welcomed. I will be buying privately with no warranty.
