Sometimes its just the "approach angle" of the blade on the glass. If you grab the blade and try to 'rotate' it so the rubber tip of the wiper sits 'squarer' to the glass often improves it. You will have to do it by trial and error which way to twist it but usually if it judders on way up the screen you twist it 'clockwise', if it judders on way down the screen, it's 'anti-clockwise'.
If they judder/squeak both ways usually an indication to buy new one's
The 'twist fix' is a very common fix on end-of-line new cars just rolling off the track and having last checks done.

Well my new blades arrived yesterday at great cost in terms of stress, I fitted them and guess what, they made no difference at all! See the noise I was getting was when the wipers change direction and the rubber is suddenly forced the other way, well I still get the same noise on the Valeo blades. I haven't used them in the rain yet but then there was no problem with my last ones. Using them lasy night with the wet snow I did see that they left a constant and annoying wet line from the furthest edge of the drivers blade, so a constant curved line near the centre of the screen which the left wiper would clear but then it would be left there again by the right wiper.
I bought a back one from the same company, I could not see how to get the old one off so any help would be grateful, but as theer is nothing wrong with it I doubt I will be fitting the replacement until required.
Oh well, at least I have a spare set for when these wear out

Thanks, I will try that when I have a few moments, I have to rush into London. Anyway, I have just done the school run and used the wipers with the screen wash and they sound like a load of puppies on my screen squeeling, so birds in the back, puppies in the front now and dodgy roof rails, why did I start fiddling?

Hi, just to share an experience,
I also had ordered some Valeo UM665 wiper blades from Speeding. They arrived yesterday and tonight I fitted them. Mine is a LHD D3 and what I found was that the wiper blades Speeding supplies are RHD ones. When fitted on a LHD vehicle the integrated spoiler is the wrong way round! That way I'm sure in heavy rain or at high speed they'll be less effective.
Nothing that can't be solved! You need a pair of tongs in order to push both metal parts on each side
of the rubber together near the middle part that fixes to the wiper arms. Do not apply too much pressure or you will cut the rubber! By doing so you can pry them out of the middle part and turn that around. Same procedure to get them in again and you're done. I applied some black paint to touch up some scrathes on the metal parts, but then I'm fussy
To dot the i you can pull of the wear indicaters and stick them to the other side of the middle part, otherwise they're not visible from the inside, should you care. (I did of course.. )
And there you are, modified UM665's to suit a LHD vehicle.
Happy driving, regards.

Does anyone have a solution for this?
When my wipers are vertical and about to change direction the drivers side one "clicks" as if the rubber is being forced back the other way. The wipers are only 2 weeks old from dealer. I don't experience any of the juddering/squeaking noises discussed above.
Don't want to fork out on a set of valeo's if it doesn't fix the problem!

Yeah mine do that too. Crack or tap noise as they change direction, sounds like the plastic banging on the glass. Worse on driver's side. Noisy wipers were a "feature" of all the rubbish Brit and French cars I had in years gone by; since I went German not had it, and now here they are back like an old infection, on me new Landy Rover. ____
