Fuel gauge gone wacky

Yesterday I jumped in the D3 and noticed it was full and when I last parked it it showed half. Thinking there was no chance some one stole it and returned it with a full tank over night I shut it down and started it back up again and it showed half. This morning it showed empty but I knew I had atleast half a tank so on the way to work I topped up and it showed full.

Has there been a history of fuel gauge problems? I've done a quick search but didnt really find anything. Any chance of silent recall? I really dont want to have to drop the tank. Sceen name use to be "wantsanlr3"

Mine goes from full to empty very quickly.... Very Happy The older I get, the better I was.

Discovery 3 TDV6 Auto (BAS remap) after Defender TD4 110 Crew Cab and 1964 SIIA 88.

on mine wiring above wheel arch chaved and rusty connections on top of tank.
