HDC, TRANSMISSION AND PARK BRAKE FAULT |
|
Hi am hoping someone can help with this one.
Whilst driving last night in snow (was in Mud and Snow Setting) my Dicso 3 went into limp home mode with the following faults being displayed.
1. Transmission Fault - Limited Gears Available
2. Park Brake Fault
3. HDC Fault - Not available
The orange "P" is on and I have an E displaying in the gear indicator.
I stopped to turn off and on in-order to reset (AS USUAL) but this hasn't worked.
The Gear selector was also stuck in park - I used the manual method (popping off the cover) to actuate the solonoid so I got it home.
Fuse no 30 (engine compartment) Transmission ECU was blown - so replaced but has now blown again...
Any ideas peeps..? Am hoping the Trannie ECU is not fried...!

ALANWXR - again thanks, have read about the low battery issuem but this doesn't seem to be associated with a continually blowing Transmisssion ECU fuse, or am I not reading these correctly..?

Is worth mentioning that the suspension is working fine - it DID NOT automatically lower and is operating just fine now, lowering and raising as designed..

Have you cleaned the engine bay recently? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Have tested the battery is has range of 11.75-11.86. Not sure if this is sufficient. I fitted a new battery 2 years ago.
Have put it on the charger anyway.. as I have no run out of 10amp mini fuses...
I'd appreciate any further advice..?

No I haven't, however the snow has been deep here in Kent and I have been negotiating some resonable snow drifts.?

The transmission module is behind the main battery and if it gets wet can fail.
Could just be a short in the wiring. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Thanks, I'll blow it out with the airline. I've read that the brake light switch might be worth a look, although the brake lights do work?

The fuse blowing is unusual tough.
When you have dried the area check the connectors on top of the modules for corrosion. You may get away with a clean.
PS Fill in your profile so we know what year yours is. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I now reckon that by driving with a large amount of snow of the skuttle panel as it melted the Transfer ECU was soaked, I have noticed a little corrosion but blown it all out and reconnected.
I am out of mini fuses for tonight so can't test, however given the posts here, I may have to replace the ECU.
Can anyne provide me with a price for this part.
D3 HSE '05 VIN LAA135A332539.
I also need a clock spring for the steering wheel as the buttons are extremly problematic and the wheel button illumination is now also flickering
I've no idea tonight what LR will stripe me for on these bits, Can anyone provide these parts..?
Thanks v much
