Daedalus;
Not seen this particular variant of this Heated wheel ECU myself before, however it does seem to have all the right connections

Hi Colin,
Voltages check out OK but significantly higher than you indicated - must have been a dodgy board connection when I built the wheel up ??
I'll send details separately
Steve
EDIT: Rebuilt wheel - problem returns. Disassembled wheel again, all works perfectly.
Flummoxed

Steve, have responded, because your voltages seem too good
Right now i am guessing i screwed up and indicated the wrong place to take measurements from I will have another look when in a clearer state of mind
Huge Halford,
Unfortunately our communication systems are diverse and flexible enough that all BBS Staff, male and female alike are fully aware of your problem, as such there is indeed a M/F split in respect of if the Blame Is indeed yours or your wifes. After all what would she know about the technicalities of what you need to order
If i were you i would fess up and humbly appeal to my Admin Angels to help you out.
Last I heard a grovelling apology for blaming your wife and a Girl on Girl thanks from her to the admin Angels will secure you free shipping for the bit YOU forgot to order

d4 wiring amendments
Dont know if already said,
I have just fitted paddles to my MY11 D4 ( my own transmitter/receiver not Colins)
note the gearbox wiring has the following change on mine
12+ve is red. not pink/green or orange/green as per guide
all else as per pdf guide posted elsewhere.It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.

You are most welcome HH
BTW a box of Chockies or bunch of flowers out of the Blue is worth much more than extra expense on Birthdays or Christmas
amazing;
If you have a D4, why are you not just adding the paddles and enabling this in the CCF ?

The short and long of it
quote"amazing;

Short answer..no equip to edit CCF.Have you sold many/any in mainland China?
Long answer: I have several cars, the automatics amongst them all have different methods to manually select gears. The smart forward - back +press button to swap manual/auto. The maz forward - back + press button it goes to neutral when moved. LR move to left first then forward+ back - press button to go into reverse.
Twice I have pushed the disco into neutral, Twice I have not been amused.
The paddles bring a degree of much needed standardization.
I already had a remote/relay gubbins cluttering a drawer(which needed just a little relay modification to suit) so only needed the paddles(Thanks to Wiggs ) and cowl (thanks to Narpy )to complete. thus saving me 110k pounds over the wifes suggestion of just buying a new discovery with them already on.
On the road I only use the manual shifing to bump up into a higher gear when cruise control is on (this way it does not drop a gear first) however off road is where I really want it. Due to some odd overlooked aspect of Chinese configuration the HDC speed control via steering wheel speed control does not work, likewise the compass function (both much to the suprise of LR engineers from UK although they didn't offer a fix ) so I rely on manual gear control (which suits me just fine but would I never pass up a chance to grumble) to control steep decents speed.
As many people in China are experiencing cars as a first generation they lack the depth and understanding (including trained mechanics) and everything is very much black and white. For example, the main dealer was shocked to see a second battery and assured me the alternater would be overloaded. I took the Smart for an oil change and they jacked up the front!
There are available Chinese versions of code readers/writers but I would not risk using one as If it goes belly up you really are on your own.
So all in all this way cost me 30ish quid plus some bits I had already about the place.
Maybe other people in the same situation as me( ) may benefit from the cable colour change info.It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.

To clear up any possible remaining confusion:
...................However some RRS's (standard on Supercharged versions i believe) optionally have a more advanced form of Cruise Control called Adaptive Cruise Control or ACC for short.
This uses a Radar sensor mounted in the front of the vehicle to keep a set distance from the vehicle in front. When and where fitted, the steering wheel switches for ACC equiped vehicles have an additional two buttons to increase or decrease the distance mounted on the left side of the steering wheel on the later 2010 wheel switches, for which we do supply an additional ACC sub kit.
I have bought a RRS wheel fitted with the ACC switches, will these need replacing with normal CC switches or can they be used by ignoring the extra switches?- if not they are for sale or swap if anyone is interested in them.It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
