Thank you for your kind comments of appreciation of my and my teams efforts. As this thread details, It has certainly taken a lot of time...

I note that you are some way short of the >50 Post count and intend to try and do some catching up before the offer ends almost 24 hours from now.

In your case you have been a regular poster for over a year with over half the requisite posts, so meet the intended spirit and i have already PM'd you to inform you that i will happily grant you the full discount Thumbs Up

Colin

Colin you are an absolute gent? Order placed yesterday and one of the Office Angels (I believe you refer to them as) has contacted me today with a revised value.

Now for the agonising wait for it and the wheel to arrive so I can install them Very Happy - assuming work does not throw in a curve ball and send me overseas in the next couple of weeks! Confused

OK thanks to Colin and Christian my paddles are now working like a charm. Thumbs Up

I will leave it to Colin to comment seeing as I am not sure my fix (a long-distance one - thank goodness I went to a technical school and learnt to solder) is what he would recommend for everyone that had the paddle shift hiccup.

Loving it. but guess what - the Mrs drove the D3 to the shops the other day.......and demands a similar wheel for her '06 RRS with heating too.....

I should know better than to leave the keys laying around

Sorry Spooky
This thread has been a buzz of activity for nearly 2 months and the discount offer made over 6 weeks ago.

Where have you been Rolling with laughter

But even without a discount, at least this upgrade is now possible and as everyone who has done it already will tell you, a rather nice one that really lifts and modernises the feel of the vehicle at the place you notice it the most. EG many spend many thousands updating their front ends but you only get to see and appreciate that when you get in or out of the vehicle.

You are most welcome and yes, I certainly try very hard and try my best to always do the right thing Thumbs Up

As Kes1907 stated previously in this thread
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic44385-387.html
It was a given that we would get this minor hiccup sorted for you one way or another.

But I do have to thank you, for your willingness to help, and your technical school teacher for giving you the requisite soldering skills Bow down

In hardware or software, me and BBS clearly try to push the boundaries and do truly innovative and pioneering stuff in order to provide that which would otherwise be impossible.

This takes a lot of time, money, effort and commitment, and being only human we don't always get it 100% right first time and is most often then copied by others etc.

Although I provided you with a way to fix this for you, I am not sure if you realise the true reason behind why the Transmitter circuit worked for us and ids and not for you or Radders89.

As amazing as it sounds, and believe me or not, I believe it is actually down to variations between the resistance across the coil of the horn relay in the BCU Rolling Eyes

AFAIK only Radder89 now needs sorting and I have sent him an E-Mail spelling out the options.

As for Mrs Baben
Fancy letting her loose on the D3, what were you thinking Laughing

My PCB's came today, nicely packed in protective bubble wrap. Thumbs Up

Anyone worried about fitting them need not be... It happened that swiftly I didn't have time to take any pictures! Whistle

I'll get round to fitting the wheel next week, but it will have to be without the heated clock spring for now! Big Cry

As a bonus, my steering wheel has flappy paddles... I'm not too fussed about making them work the gears, but I may use the same kind of tech to make it work other things. (Like maybe one for my electric garage and the other I could maybe make my roof rack lights [when I fit them] flash!)

... Or better yet, I could make the Adaptive Cruise Control buttons the up & down for the garage door! Very Happy

Looks like i have to remove my 1 year old heated steering wheel, with brand new switches for a D4 one with all the switches.. Hopfully i can sell it on..

Is there someone how have recorded with video to show how this install is done?
If not, I can do it when i get all the bits sorted..

I have just been to a LR dealer and asked a quote and part numbers for a D4 heated wheel with all the switches.

LR023958, 8 speed Auto trans ZF8hp70 4wd, I/P Facial Contrast Ebony black : £1237,38

Lr050908 Steering wheel - gloss black with heated steering wheel, voice input : £256,03

I don't think that it will effect it. I'd let you know but I'm still looking for an ACM to fit into my Disco!
