Colin,
Sorry to be a pain but I'm still struggling to get the connector off. Any chance you could explain again for dummies like me.....
I had the same problem. when I did it I had no idea how to remove it as i did a lazy removal of just the gear selector cover (don't ask.....)
Its got a locking bar on the rear that you lever out and it rotates 90degrees down (from memory) then you can pull the plug out. Or it might be on the bottom and rotates up. Cant remember.
I ended up breaking one side of mine when removing it but its been ok.
Quite why land rover decided to fit the same colour wire in the same connector twice is beyond me. Must have been good they were smoking

I will start a thread off but I'm currently fixing the thing. I have had a hard disk failure, but the good thing is at least when removing it I have had chance to take pictures !
Ill post a link when up.

So you do know to woum I refer
145 quid for a premium leather (hence perforated) wheel in such good condition complete with switches is by no means expensive
I am half tempted to buy this myself, modify it with our conversion kit and raffle it off for charity, so if you don't sell it soon, do let me know

I would rather not re explainin this again to you or any specific individual on here chap.
I promise I am not being rude, just having a josh and seeing a much bigger picture as i will explain
I have a policy of picking up on and recognising any questions about such problem areas as this that are truly valid and much valued input and feedback and regard them as something we did not cover, provide sufficient help or have not already properly explained in our instructions and ultimately providing us a way to improve our instructions for everyone else who may also have the same problems as you
Your posting this problem as well as since then reading that ids struggled and even broke his connectors locking bar clearly shows that unplugging this connector is an area and difficulty we have taken for granted and over looked.
So rather than spend my time answering just you about this, IMHO it is better spent in my improving the instructions to include some pictures and explaination that will help not only you but everyone thereafter who will face the same challenge and problem.
Its going to take me a little while to re work the instructions accordingly and re upload the improved version.
In the meantime, here is one of the pictures I will be including that clearly shows the locking part of the connector and retaining barb that has to be pressed in that you can't normally see

I hope this helps

I've tapped into the connector that proved to be a complete before Wiggs came along with his video. That's all done and I've tucked the receiver in towards the front of the centre console near to the cigarette lighter and taken the car for a test and once in sport mode the flappy paddles are not doing their thing and changing up / down. With the ignition on I am getting a rapid flash constantly on the blue light on the receiver. Obviously, this goes off when the ignition is off.
Baben i think you were having problems with this. Did you manage to sort it?MY15 D4 SDV6 HSE Corris Grey - Gone

Not yet, but that's not Colin or Christian's fault. I am 750km away from home on the beach till next week. It sucks, but I will just ride it out and report back next week when I have had a chance to do some measurements.

mine worked perfectly. things I would check.
1. be 100% sure you have the correct yellow cable. in fact check them all.
2. make sure the steering module is connected correctly to the left hand switch pack. its quite difficult to see when putting the module on as its so tiny but all pins have to be obviously connected.
I seem to remember that on mine, the light on the receiver only comes on when the paddles are pulled to indicate its received a transmission.
so if its constantly flashing I would think its showing an error condition.
perhaps Colin or Christian may be able to offer some more help

The wiring of the Reciever to the Gear selector wiring has it's own documentation that should already be on line.
Just wiring mine up - agree with earlier comments about "works of art" - very well made. Ref quote above - there was no paperwork less the invoice with the kit, so can someone PM me the info or link - I have dropped BBS a email as well, but would be nice to finish it.
Not sure if I need the extension cable mentioned earlier for the RRS - from the paddle to the PCB? If so a part number appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hiya JDB
Glad to hear Christian has sorted you out
For ref the i linked to the installation instuctions earlier in this thread
We would print a copy and include them but right now they are pretty dynamic so in the meantime we will make up a little note to put in with the kits to point to this.
Radders
Sorry to hear you are having a problem like Baben.
Unfortunately the paddles are not just simple switches as one might expect and actually give two different resistances to ground depending on if they are pulled or not. This means that I had to create an analogue potential dividing circuit to feed into transistors to inversely convert them to digital signals for the Encoding chip.
Unfortunately while this seems to have worked fine for us and ids in initial testing, with baben and now you having this problem, something is clearly still a bit off and needs a bit more tweaking.
Just another shining example of how difficult and complex doing this kind of thing really is
We have been trying to work with baben to get some more measurements and information to assist and be sure of the true nature of his problem and so be sure of any solution as well as making some tweaks and further testing ourselves and are pretty sure we can easily resolve this issue and if required will send out new Transmitter assemblies to anyone affected.

The constant flashing light on the receiver means that the transmitter thinks one or both paddles are being held in.
