I would probably be interested in this and combining it with a heated steering wheel once it is all woring and possibly available as a kit.

Those who saw me at Billing this year and saw the endless pile of prototype boards i had with me, will know just what a complex project this has become and just how much work, effort and money i have already put into this pet project and just how close i am / was.
However since my return, i have been inundated with seemingly endless unforseen problems that demand my exclusive attention and always seem to have a much higher priority level.
Across from my desk is a cabinet, on top of which is a box clearly marked D3 to D4 steering wheel project, that contains the result of many hundreds of hours of work, and not a day goes by that i wish i could fetch it down, open it, and pick up from where i once was.
It will happen, of that i am sure, but in all honesty, i really cannot curently say when.

a few choice words from lee who does not beat about the bush lol.
Take as much time as you need Colin my D3 is perfect
Seriousley though I've been to the BBS safehouse and have seen the level of perfection Colin insists on, so what I can say is when Colin does it's done correctly and will be worth the wait.
I've seen the amount of MSV2 prototypes pcbs he made and changed just to get it perfect before giving it to the public. You don't see that level of perfection very often

Interesting thread I must admit.....
How far along did this project get ? Is there a working module for non heated, non paddle shift wheels ?
I'm a Centrafuse user and intresting i having more buttons to input to my k8055 board. Working fine with the D3 wheel but the D4 one would be sweet.....
Cheers.

He'll get there eventually - water wears thru a mountain with persistance...
all it takes is time
that 2010 RRS steering wheel is hidden in the back of the tool cupboard in case the missus finds it. One day I hope to be able to fit it to her RRS as a surprise seeing as the D3 is now property of cousin Jack........
...........but of course the mind has been working overtime and I am thinking, well, there's a 2010 FFRR standing next to the tool cupboard where the 2010 RRS steering wheel is hidden............ know what I mean? Do you think it could work on the FFRR? Maybe its just a direct swop and bobs your flappy paddle shifter? Whaddya think?

Hiya Baben
Sorry but there is definitely no way the D4 or 2010 RRS wheel will work on a 2010 on FFRR as the latter uses CAN bus while the prior uses LIN bus.
Wiggs, sorry, i have not forgotten, and as soon as i can get back on the final wrapping up of this project, i will sort you out a prototype set for testing it first thing i do, but you know some of the stuff i am having to deal with just now and why they have a higher priority

oh well, the FFRR doesn't need paddles then, does it
I would dearly love to have the RRS done though, when can I test the hardware under African conditions?

Slightly
From the international Land Rover website:
For comfort, refinement and convenience, many advanced features are standard on the Range Rover HSE. The all-V8 line-up includes the superb new 4.4 litre LR-TDV8 Diesel engine with a new eight-speed transmission incorporating Drive Select with Paddle Shift as standard. blah blah blah
Colin Help! How do I get paddle shift on my FFRR?

Hiya G
My outright acquisition of a competitors company and their product line, is certainly one aspect that quite rightly demands my time and attention more so than this project, and gives some an idea of why this project is on hold, however at present i also have a few other, even more important aspects that i must attend to that may take 2 or 3 months to reach conclusion.
I will return to concluding this project as soon as i possibly can and i more than anyone look forward to it.
