Certainly a theme here:
Just checked my nuts! LH tight and RH 2mm away from bodywork. Will have to get a spanner on it in the next couple of days and add it to the weekly checklist

Can't remember the code numbers off hand, but Loctite do two types of thread lock. One is designed to be permanent - the other undoable (made up word) with some effort. Both should stop threads unwinding of their own accord.

In my young days in a workshop (when God was a lad and things ran on steam), I seem to remember there were three types: threadlock, screwlock and studlock. One was red (weakest), one was green (stronger) and one was blue (strongest). Or was it... And then I had to go and deliver the bread to the top of the hill.
Oh no, I've created a Loctite nostalgia post. Help!!
Now where's me cardy?

Just thought I'd add the following note due to the poll results, because if you just look at the stud you might think that it is tight:
When I checked mine they appeared tight, it was only when I took the weight (cheers AndrewS) off the strut that the washer could be spun revealing the fact that i also suffered from "Torque relaxation". Some say the glass is half full. Others that it is half empty. I say 'Are you drinking that?"

Just back from the dealers, where they tightened both sides (although only the RH side was obviously loose - by about 4mm).
Told them about www.disco3.co.uk and they had a look at the forum. I think they'll be keeping an eye out for this problem from now on... 2005 Disco 3 TDV6 7 seater. Leather, DVD, fully colour-coded.

Gareth
Just found the forum yesterday & only wish I'd found it a while ago (December 2004 to be precise, when I bought the Disco3). After reading your post I went straight outside & guess what, I could see at least 2 threads on the right hand tailgate support strut & the left was just loose. Have put loctite on them now but will watch them closely. In a perverse kind of way I find it reassuring that, on viewing the forum, there are few other issues that I haven't already had!! -will post my woes elsewhere Richard

Welcome to the Jungle! The D3 is a great car really, I love it despite the flaws.
Electronic problems I can live with, but torque relaxed nuts is very poor
