Not very much LT as I had a second set of wheels & tyres for that.
However, I was always on boggy building sites with them and was very impressed, given that they are a AT tyre.

Dilemma
The Pirelli Scorpian Zeros 255 55 R19's on my Disco 3 HSE need replacing, and I am not that keen on buying the same ones as I have found the wear rate is not great. I was reading this thread with interest, finally deciding to go with the ATR's, however when I got near the end of the thread I discovered to my horror they are being discontinued. I rang a couple of local tyre fitters and I guess they must use the same supplier as they can only get 2. They are also £225 each fitted
I am concerned if they manage to get 4 and I need to replace one in the future for whatever reason I will not be able to get hold of one, and I dont want to run odd tyres.
Would I be best sticking with the Zeros or going GG AT's? I only use the car on the road.

If you only use the car on the road maybe you need neither, lots of other tyres available.
The ATR is available and I am sure we could do a better price than what you have been quoted, the General AT would maybe to aggressive for you.

As Andy mentioned, if its only the road you need them for, the GG's may be too aggressive.
My LTZ's are not quiet, but not loud enough to annoy me. Great tyre.

Kwik fit is worth a try, they're fitting 5 19" ATRs for me next week, for £950 all in.
I had ATRs previously and they are IMO a great all rounder for the Disco, no extra noise and no increase to fuel consumption.
My factory fitted Scorps lasted 18000 miles which is 3000 better than the last lot, the ATR will be good for double that.

I'd barely get 20k miles from a set of Pirelli Zero's or Goodyear HP's. My 19" ATR's were good for 45k+ miles and my current set of 18" ATR's are looking good for 50k miles. But, most of my mileage is clocked up on the M4 and M25, so pretty easy on tyre wear. Although in the US, they do come with a 50k mile "Conditional" Warranty.
I can't notice any loss in mpg or increase in noise or braking distances in comparison to the above "road" tyres. Performance is similar too. I think if pushing really hard, Zero's (with a good tread depth) were just better for steering feel and accuracy.
Based on my own personal experience over 126k miles and 6 years in a D3, I'd not hesitate to recommend ATR's for road use only.
They can be a bit more expensive to buy, but they're wear rate plus tough sidewalls negates that difference.

Scrub that bit of advice, unusually Kwak Fat have messed up and had 5 x Michelins waiting for me this morning. They assured me that the Michelins were a 'much better' tyre, which I'm sure they may be for a different user. Turns out they cannot get ATRs after all
However, not all bad news - I did try another indie local fitter and theye assure me they can source and are doing the 5 for £930 fitted, provided the right tyres show up on Thursday

Ha, one way to get rid of the 'wet dog' smell, for sure.
Even swmbo commented on the rubber smell, and the car is parked outside
Done 11,000 miles in them and the thread is between 8.5mm to 9mm. On this basis taking them down to 3mm I would expect to get between 50-55k miles out of them.
Had 2 set of Vredesteins and both lasted 32k miles.
However I have definitely noticed a 10% drop in MPG with the ATR's.

doleawg-what pressures are you running?
My friend and work colleague replaced the Wintracs that came on his (used) D3 with ATR's and didn't notice any drop in mpg. I've just asked him.
We both run our ATR's at about 35/36 Front and 38-40 Rear for day to day use, increasing slightly if carrying a heavy load or using all the 7 seats etc.
I know that many of the Wintrac users in the forum run them at higher pressures, which helps the mpg.
Looks as if we're both going to get 50-55k miles from a set, which is great
