Mac..easiest way to get at the turbo is to remove the body..(8 bolts)...so not as major a job as it sounds.
You can get to it via the front wheel arch but a real tight squeeze and takes an age. "you cannot teach stupid people to do clever things"

Yes, there is an Engine Management software update available. Basically, every time the engine is started (or switched off, i forget) the VNT actuator is moved through its full movement to prevent future seizures...
But the dealer will only carry it out under warranty if there is a genuine fault with the turbo. Otherwise you will have to pay for it
Unless you know someone who works in a dealership, obviously
My car is going in for its service this week and I have asked the dealer to apply this software update, he is not 100% sure which TSB it is, can anyone help?
