The thing is it's not just £50.00 they will get and cause at lot of expense and stress to you the looser, it's big business for some of them. Don't forget they have yours so only need to find another three the same to make a set of new/almost new wheels and tyres and they will fetch at least £400.00 and there are always buyers out there to feed them.

Yes, good point. I think I'll replace mine with a NEW steel rim and a protector. I'll boycott the used market unless I know it's from a legit source. Perhaps if we all do it we can eliminate the demand, and thus the crime, eventually.

Wheel protector
Thanks Ray for the prompt delivery. Looks a decent piece of kit.
Their "copy" of the LR alloy is a LOT cheaper than the best price I can get from a dealer, is there any questions I should be asking about the difference? If the LR alloy is superior then I don't mind paying for safety but if it's the same why pay more than you need too?
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks

When it comes to wheels and tyres then I won't take a risk. There are too many poor quality rip offs out there.

Absolutely right on safety but for all I know these alloys could come out of the same factory as LR's!
Can anyone advise as to what (if any) questions I should be asking?
