So Jagwont has set upon a course of essentially starting a new brand mostly disconnected from its legacy in a market that has been brutal to EV startups.
They may be right about the market forgetting about Jag after 2 years but I don't think they are counting on being forgotten about may be the same as starting over and they will end up joining the ranks of Fisker, Lucid, Rivian, Lordstown, etc. The problem with this strategy is that now all those companies still left will have a 2 years head start on them.
Yaeh, everybody is talking about Jag right now. Everyone talked about the Yugo and the Aztek but that didn't translate into any particular success. Unfortunately I think the cat may have to be put down.

Jag boss seems to not have learned that the customer is always right. Also fighting someone on social media never ends well.

Seen a few self driving Jag-wars tootling around LA today. Bit spooking seeing a car with no-one in the front at all. Maybe JLR (or whatever they are calling themselves) are planning to make big savings by not fitting pedals & steering wheels, a la Musk’s Cyder Taxi thingie.

A self-driving Jag would certainly be a break from tradition, where Jaguars have often been seen as a "driver's car" as much as a comfortable box to be driven in.
I guess the real question is whether the days of the "car enthusiast" are indeed over and it is now all about image and styling, as Jaguar seem to think. Sadly, I fear they might just be right. Previously:
2010 FL2 TD4e GS
‘93 Defender 110 200TDi CSW - still got this, non-runner on SORN.
‘87 Defender 90 4 cyl Petrol
‘83 110 CSW V8 - best ever!
Range Rover 2-door V8 (not sure of year - 4-speed box and vacuum diff switch)
Series III SWB Diesel

Maybe they are right. Maybe it's about the journey not the driving. Many kids today don't seem to want to learn to drive. My niece and nephew don't. They live in London and don't see the point.
But if thats the plan from JaGuAr then what's to stop Miele, Siemens, Samsung and Beko etc building 'cars'? After all they are experts in electric motor white goods....... D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)
New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!) Sold
Sold Volvo XC90 R-Design (known as Basil)
Sold - D4 HSE (Known as Gerty)
No longer the Old Buses original owner
231,000 miles and counting
05 S manual owned from March 2005
D4 Face lifted
Still original injectors and turbo
V8 Front brakes
BAS Remap, Allisport Intercooler and deCat
EGRs blanked
T-Max split charge
Hanibal Expeedition rack
Prospeed ladder
Duratrac tyres
IID BT
BAS FBH control

And another cost saving - available in any colour as long as it’s white-goods white.
PS And you lot just wait, this could be just the beginning. It could also be rolled out in the other part of jaGUar lAND rOvEr. After all it will have been deemed a success before it even went public.

As I don't buy new, I'll be happily buying "real" LRs for a while yet. Buy second hand and then do 150k miles in it seems to be a handy approach. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
