Hi all
Just a simple question
Can you fit a simple on/off switch to start the FBH ?
Don’t want a controller or timer
Just want to walk out to the car flick a switch and go back indoors for 20mins and then go out switch off and drive away
Also be able to switch in on during the summer to keep it working
If so how do you do it ? 2005 D3 SE Auto, zermatt silver

V8 brake upgrade
Will always ask silly questions

Std fbh needs a can signal to start.
Oval timer is what I use, but you have to set the timer as it will not fire up with a simple press of the flame buton, so no good for random departure times.

The Altox controller comes with a push button option. Never fitted mine though, start it remotely by sending a text.
Not sure it works on D3. .

Seen this on eBay
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124117320536
Seller also does one which is just a switch and one with GSM link
Very good prices (if they work).

I was gonna post the same.
No need to make your own these days.
Haven’t tested them, worth a go though

Just fitted. Took about 5 days from Romania. Three wires to connect up (+, - and pin 2 on FBH - wire from D3 shop)
Works a treat

excellent news.
They are the cost effective option for D3.
Who wouldn't want a warm heater for £60

Excellent.
I like it as it only 3 wire to connect (as mine’s older I think I have the red w-bus on the heater), and no tapping in to light wiring
Is it simply on off of does it have a timer to protect the battery
Looks like the guy might get a bit more business

Just on/off, no timer. Fourth output wire to activate a relay, LED, etc.

@ballast, do you mind me asking where you picked up the 12V supply? Mine has now arrived, and I'm getting everything ready to fit.
