Robbie's Guide To FBH Thermocall TC4 Advanced GSM
Decided to fit a Webasto Thermocall to my own D4. I've not played with the new 'TC4 Advanced' version before so I thought I would give it a go.
Just a quick test today to see if the unit works and I will wire it in properly when I get chance. Anyway, stuck a giffgaff sim into it, installed the Webasto App on my phone and connected power, ground and w-bus wire to the unit:

Perhaps not the most challenging wiring project with just 3 wires to feed to the kit!
Click on the App and the FBH starts:

The TC4 then texts you back to confirm it is running and tells you what the outside temperature is using the ambient temperature info from the vehicle. It also tells you how long it has to run:

You can set the heating time to whatever you like:

Or just set your departure time and the TC4 will work out how long before it needs to light the FBH given how cold it is:

It can also trigger an accessory, give you the vehicle internal temp, text you an alert at a set temperature or when the car is being robbed. In the latter case perhaps the 'accessory' should be a relay to kill the power to the fuel pump....
More installation info to come, when I find the time to bung it all in.

this looks to be a better upgrade than the remote climate via the fob?
