Looks like I might not have been too far from the mark re shovelling snow. Just had a look at the A9 traffic cams and that’s looking a bit wild around Drumochter! Shocked Shocked

You would hate it, honest! 28c, lovely day and boat tour of oyster farms, eating them virtually straight from the lake. Thumbs Up

Deeeeeeeeeish.

Mind you can’t have too many, last time I had lots of oysters I ended up with gout type symptoms.

It’s a tough life but someone has to live it. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Few more pics. Did a visit to the old parliament in Canberra. There is a corridor with a load of sketches on the wall. Although most were over our Brit heads, this made us chuckle.

Spent a couple of days in Merimbula, one of the many oyster capitals in Aus. Interesting seeing the beds from the boardwalk along the shore.

And if we were tempted to risk the nibbling crabs and wade out for a bit of impromptu shucking, this level of fine put paid to that idea!

Bought out from local takeaway place, this time Oysters Kirkpatrick. Almost as tasty as au natural!

And the F&Cs, plus prawn & squid, with a “small” chips (thankfully lost the fries name). And yes, salad. My body is a temple and all that. Cool

Then next day off to the local animal refuge place, lots of wildlife that’s either been rescued and can’t be released back up the wild.

SWEEEEEEET echidna, even got to give it a pat. Thumbs Up

Then feeding time for the emus and roos.

Yes please, whatever is in the bag I’ll eat!

And a pat please. Boooooooootiful coat.

Mrs DSL getting in on the act as well. Whistle

Emus weren’t that fussed though, they’re not the same without Rod Hull!

Luckily didn’t see any of these chaps!

Then today’s Captain Sponge’s oyster boat tour, pics posted earlier. Really good tour and fantastic day on the water, then a bit of a drive to here, Lake Entrance. Another boat tour of the lakes, hopefully, tomorrow. And a bootiful day is forecast. Mr. Green

Few pics from boat trip this afternoon, this morning was spent doing laundry/shrinking t-shirts (delete as appropriate).

Highlights were a couple of dolphin encounters. Firstly two playing with the boat. Deffo UC&P!

SWMBO tried taking a pic. Just the one but it was a quality one! Laughing

Then as we headed back to the quay we came across a pod that was having a bit of a feeding frenzy. Spielberg eat yer heart out!

And saw a few seals slobbing it on the breakwater.

We were going to do do a 5.something km hike to see them, might be having a slobbing morning instead. Whistle Whistle

No, he said not to eat the pies with a kangaroo logo, tasty though they are. Haven’t had a Skippy Pie on this trip but keeping eyes open. Thumbs Up

U remember our blue tyres in Tunisia? This bad boy had blue tinted tyres, obviously been playing in the sand. Well jel, and to rub salt in the wound it’s parked just down from our apartment. Sad Peeps on this site would sell their first, second and third born for the off-roaders, gear and caravans on display everywhere.

Unfortunately our present car, Maurice the MG, isn’t quite as adventurous. Sad

Getting a hangover just thinking about those!!

Just one pic from today. Now settled into a B&B overlooking the Wilsons Promontory, bit to the E of Melbourne. This is a pano from the room’s main window.

It’s our first night where we’re not in a city or a town, and the sky is nice and clear, hoping to see the Milky Way and Southern Cross tonight. Thumbs Up

PS Not going a-wandering tonight as around here there are snakes, like tiger snakes and eastern brown snakes. Will just watch the galahs and other assorted parrots from a position of safely, behind glass with a glass or two of VC. Thumbs Up
