Rear LED lights

Hi
Couple of years ago I replaced my rear tail lights with the new LED upgrades and thought they we're to bright almost blinding to the car driver behind me,and recently I had three driver's flashing me and passing me indicating that I had my fog lights on which I never have had and one guy wanted to, well shall we say do something that can't be repeated on here Censored Censored .
The question is that ,can I reduce the brightness with say a inline resister(there is one already but I believe that is for the indicators).
What type and power of resister, and how to go about it.
To save any aggressive drivers from themselves I am comtemplating putting the originals back on and selling the upgrades.
Any thoughts and advice please
Regards Pete

If the LED lights are working properly they wouldn't be blinding to anyone. Sounds like something is not right. Are the lights genuine LR parts, or after market cheap versions?

They are working as they should but bright and yes after market ones from power UK I believe.
Just took a look and they are as almost bright as the fog lights.

I'd be going back to PFUK and sending them a video of what is happening... are you sure it isn't an earth fault causing the brake lights to come on as well as the rear lights ?

Maybe post a video on here so we can see?

I've got the LED Upgrade on my D4 and don't have any issues. I agree they are bright but not to the point of blinding others. Random thought, Is your car lifted in height? Are the lights seated in properly?

Some say they are fine others to bright just don't want the agro of other drivers they have passed 3 mots with them on could be just me
I don't believe UK power would sell stuff that's not right as I think he is as straight a guy as you can get.
Anyways I will upload a video.https://photos.app.goo.gl/prZuwki5yGDABxMs8
Click on link or copy and past in your browser
Some may notice the reflectors are also brake lights this is perfectly legal as obviously they reflect as well.
Lights off, brake lights ,side lights, fog lights,to be honest they look ok in the daytime I will do another when it gets dark.
I have a long trip to Norfolk and surrounding area for a week and if anything like where I live drivers are selfish and arrogant and hate 4x4s

You could cover the light units with a lightly tinted film. I’ve never used it but seen it for sale in such places as Halfords.

Your rears do look brighter than mine but mine are the Vaelo originals with resistors.

They do look much better more softer than mine.
Any idea what resisters are used as i know we need one for the indicators to work correctly maybe I could install one on each of the lights.

Still might revert to the originals

They do look a bit harsh, I'm not surprised people are flashing you.

Wait till dark and I will post up a picture so as to get a better perspective.
Just looking at a dark tint to apply but looks like a specialist job to do so as not to get any creases looks like the windscreen tint you can buy.,any thoughts.
Anyone used the tint spray I have also been looking at ?

Give them a call and see if they have any suggestions? I don't think changing the resistors will help as those would not affect the brightness of the LEDs...
