Yeah I’ve just watched that video
So you think replacing a pair can be done in a full day?
I’ve got to use my car to tow a 3.5 tonne trailer today for 1 hour plus travel there so 2 hours
Then a 3 hour drive Thursday to tow again
Then I’m off for a few days
Then Suffolk on the 8th aug which is towing for 6 hours
Then I’m there for 2 weeks so was thinking do the repair while the cars not in use
Or does that sound like a bad idea?Disco 3 SE Manual 2005 V6 2.7

Additional:
So the best plan of action for my situation is
Work today (risk driving with leak)
Tomorrow - Remove wheel and access strut and front valve block. Test for leaks. Check top bolts aren’t rounded.
If valve bock then maybe able to repair or service. If strut then order one or pair?
Work Thursday (again risk driving)
Order relevant parts
Work Monday (again risk)
Work Thursday - take all tools and parts and have 2 weeks to do repair. Find local tool shop just in case I need more.
Go there with torque settings ready. Should I get new bolts for bottom of strut?

Must admit it took me nearly a week because I had to get a torque wrench and some other bits but if u had all the right tools could do them in a day
Not sure about the towing, personally I would be worried for the what IF , just in case ur miles from home
However I’ve never heard one completely failing , maybe some of the more experienced members will also be able to advise
Could u change the bad side side first then the other later on , then if found there bad the drop links on another day
Hope that helps a little bit , plus suppose at the end of the day it’s has to be ur call , don’t mean that disrespectfully in any way , personally would at least get that bad one changed ASAP

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking as per previous job lost a lot of time not having correct tools and torques and spare bolts at hand
And I don’t have the option but to take the chance tbh. I have breakdown cover at least to get me to the job.
Thanks
If you don’t mind could I get your number or give you a few messages on here? As it sounds like you’ll be able to guide me!Disco 3 SE Manual 2005 V6 2.7

Of course ur more than welcome to send messages , apologises if I don’t see ur message straight away
Honestly mate if I can change them anyone can, top nuts I found where the most difficult
Have u got plenty of socket ujs, extension bars as I can also get to the back top nut from the engine bay ,
Also got some curved spanners , but with a decent tool kit ur be able to get them undone
If u don’t mind me adding, don’t do like I did, make sure u have everything to hand, including a torque wrench that goes up to 300nm , coppaslip for the bottom bolt, not on the threads but the non threaded part of the bolt
Oh and some deep sockets for the other side of the bolt, dam it can’t remember what size, I think it might have been 24mm ??, hopefully someone else will remember
Will also look through some of my old threads to see if I can find the size for u
Hope that helps and ur trip goes well mate

Bottom nut and bolt were 21 and 24mm , the 24mm is a deep socket
Pretty sure that’s correct and someone will be able to 100% confirm that as indeed need the deep socket
Plus don’t forget , raise ur suspension to off road height for more access, axle stands , then remove battery leads
But that video will also help plus plenty of us here to also help
