Multiple fault codes after lay up
Disco has been idle since before Christmas (been quite ill } started it up last Thursday to go and collect fuel and the chief to be greeted by three warning lights (suspension, stability control, braking system). Tried to continue with journey and got engine fault and limp home so returned home. Initial thoughts were brake light switch (had happened before) ordered switch which arrived on Saturday.
On Sunday read all the codes and cleared them, fitted switch and tried again but no joy still a pile of codes returned. Checked power to the two terminals of brake light switch (got power).
Had another go today and have the following codes.
Also when I started it today the gear selector lever was in park but the display was showing SPORT D and also had Transmission fault in Info screen. After I selected other gears the display showed correct gear - bizarre. Vehicle is always connected to a ctek charger.
Anyone seen this combination of codes before can give me a hint on where to start.
A.T.C.M. (All terrain control module) 1 fault
U0416-94 TEMPORARY. Invalid data received from vehicle dynamics control module.
R.L.C.M. (Ride level control module) 2faults.
U0416-86 TEMPORARY. Invalid data received from vehicle dynamics control module.
U0428-86 TEMPORARY. Invalid data received from steering angle sensor module.
T.C.C.M. (Transfer case control module) 1fault
U0126-87 INTERMITTENT Lost communication with steering angle sensor module.
T.C.M. (Transmission control module) 1fault
P0826-00 INTERMITTENT Up and down switch input circuit.
V.D.M. (Vehicle dynamics module) 2faults
C1 B00-27 HISTORIC. Steering angle sensor.
UO428-68 HISTORIC. Invalid data received from steering angle sensor module.
I.P.C. Instrument cluster control module 2 faults
U0010-88 TEMPORARY. Medium speed CAN communication bus.
U0159-87 TEMPORARY. Lost communication with parking assist control module.
Many thanks in advance

I’d just sit tight and use it. Either get the battery charged up or replace it. Just keep clearing the codes and persist until it’s had a good run to charge up.Defender 110 2.4 TDCi Utility Station Wagon.

Check the steering angle sensor for slow movement- video camera or phone on it whilst turning the steering wheel and watch to see if it is slippingMust stop buying shiny toys....

As most of the codes are "U" type, which is information only and not an error I would go with battery not up to scratch. Check the battery voltage (12.4 to 12.8) before starting and the voltage from the alternator after starting the car (14.4 volts)

You shouldn’t have these problems if you are using a Ctek charger, what size amps is the charger? Check the fridge is off if you have one and be prepared for buying a new GGM battery.
All the faults are significant to a low charged battery, and will pop up when cranking voltage drops below 9v thumbsup:It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Hi thanks all. Ctek is an MXS 7 so 7AMP. Shows battery fully charged. 12.72volts with charger running drops to 12.47volts after a short while with charger disconnected but then rises again to 12.69volts as things that switch on when door opens switch off. No fridge fitted.
Have had problems with mice in past years but since new neighbours got 4 feral cats haven't seen any and the 10 traps strategically stationed round the cars have remained empty all autumn and winter so far. Battery is an AGM and I'm trying to work out when I fitted it. Has year stamp on it 2013-2016.

A fully charged battery should be over 13volts, 12.7v is about half charged. As I have stated many times before you need amps to provide cranking power not volts, just because a battery has sufficient volts it doesn’t mean it has sufficient amps, but you won’t have the amps without the volts. New battery time I’m affraid It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Thanks for that . More dosh but I suppose I've not given much to the government this year in fuel tax . Will do a cranking battery test tomorrow if it stops raining Anyone fitted a Halfrauds Yuasa battery 900amp 100ah?
Seems that Ctek didn't save the day.
Anyone else having problems with Ctek - I've binned 2 recently. Now moving to Noco.
Will report on battery check tomorrow.

Halfords battery warranty is very good but you must save the receipt.
What are the problems you are having with Ctek chargers? It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Further update:
Hooked up with jump leads to a second battery and started it left second battery attached - moved back and forth and got HDC FAULT SYSTEM NOT AVAILABLE with the associated three warning lights so me thinks I will check ABS sensors first

darrind could get the prize
Steering angle sensor was showing way-out on straight ahead. So recalibrated it and was just about to use a maker pen to mark straight ahead on the plastic ring and the darn thing is really floppy .
Will try to move DISCO under cover tomorrow ready to investigate further and will see if the plastic ring moves position. If it has do I glue it or has anyone got a alternative solution?

For some reason the steering angle sensor doesnt like being stood for a while. Don't worry though its a simple job to glue it to the shaft. I used the small tubes of Araldyte that mix in the syringe to fix mine on my old D3 - that was after Id been away for a month - Ironically my D3 hasnt been moved for a couple of weeks and was going to collect something this morning so thought Id give it a run in stead of the D4 and I have the same problem the ring on that one needs doing now!Must stop buying shiny toys....
