| Cubby box phone mount replacement |

The lid and back air vents of my centre console was all damaged, so bought a new one and switched out all the parts I needed. My car is an 08 and the replacement part was an 06, but in much better condition than mine. Also, it had a fridge which was so easy to fit into mine and works brilliantly!
The cubby fridge I have has a hole towards the back for a wire and the lid has the old phone mount and connector on the underside. I don't have the wires for that in my car (I guess the phone mount was discontinued by 08) so am thinking of taking it out. However, it seems to be a convenient place to fit something else - There's an aux cable and cigarette socket power in the centre console just behind the fridge and maybe I could run a USB charger, Aux cable, or something else up into the lid? It could be a better place to charge a phone or fit in an MP3 player on a long journey maybe? Has anyone else done this or is there a conversion kit or something else available like this?
