STOP START AUXILIARY & MAIN BATTERIES for Discovery 4 2015
Hi all , my first post here but have spent many hours reading other posts , hopefully somebody will help regarding my understanding alternatives to the very expensive Land Rover batteries.
Looking for a replacement batteries for my Disco 4 2015 plate.
According to my Land Rover dealer the Original part number is LR047630 for the Auxiliary STOP/ START it is an AGM 14AH 200A Battery and the Main Battery is LR094642 AGM 95AH 850A.
Seems to be alternatives about at much better prices:
EXIDE EK151 AGM 15AH 200A Battery size 150x90x145mm
measuring the original without removing it i can say its very similar size.
EXIDE EK151 has 3 year warranty and is only £48 delivered. Much cheaper than the LR047630 from LR
I also notice that the original Jaguar / Land rover part has an EXIDE Technologies written on the Label.
Also looking at the BOSCH AGM Car Battery 12V 95Ah Type 019 S5A13 to replace the Main Battery (5 years warranty and only £180 delivered.
3 questions if I may:
I plan to replace both batteries but the STOP S|TART battery needs to be replaced very soon...(will not hold charge so no STOP START Available warning on dash) Do you need to reset the Battery Monitoring System (BMS) for both batteries or just the main battery.
As anybody used the EXIDE EK151 Battery as a replacement for the Auxiliary stop start battery on a Disco 4?
Is there another alternative / recommendation for the Main Battery.
I bought a Halfords AGM Battery for £147.20 with trade discount - retail £184.00 with a 5 year warranty.
NJSSAm I Gammon or Woke ? - I neither know nor care.

Exide EK151 is the correct battery and that is around the price, I fitted one about 5 months ago
Tayna batteries are a very good supplier of all batteries and next day delivery, recommended, discount available to site members but can be cheaper bought from their eBay adverts
No reset needed for auxiliary ss battery, only main battery along with size of main being fitted.
Tayna do an Enduraline AGM battery that will fit with correct spec for around £138 with at least 4 year warranty, check their web site for details. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Thanks for confirming i only need to reset BMS when replacing the Main Battery.
and for the reminder regarding option to configure the Battery settings to tell the BMS what battery it is looking after. Hoping my new GAP iid Bluetooth kit will be able to sort this when it arrives.
thanks again

Hi NJS5
Just wondering if you meant to put this on the more recent start/stop query started by discovery1953?
