Can't say I noticed a significant improvement.
Apart from starting.

Robbie, thanks for the vote of confidence. Although it's a cheaper (and less stressful) option, I didn't like the idea of remotely cranking up the FBH 20 minutes in advance of using the car. If I'd wanted a vehicle that required 'warming up' before use I'd have bought a traction engine
However, as I've posted, I'm only getting 4 replaced.

Update. Just got the car back. They've removed the 4 broken plugs, cylinders 1,2,3 and 5 and replaced them with BERU units. Not sure about the etiquette or otherwise of posting the costs on the forum, but I presume a PM will be OK. So, if you're interested let me know.

great to hear you have the truck back
At least you can head into the winter knowing your not going to get much trouble with cold starts & plumes of grey smoke
Drop me a PM if you will with the detail around the painful costs involved & i'll forewarn the bank manager (SHMBO) for next month.

The garage called earlier of the 5 plugs they were going to replace. All five came out in one piece
That's a result I wasn't expecting.

We decided not to touch the 6th to keep cost in budget. The thinking was 5 is better than none MY16 D4 Landmark SDV6 (The Ice Maiden)

Would guess the one not replaced was “under” the HPFP! Once you have defeated the idiots any job is half done. Pity there are so many idiots to defeat.

Nick,
Excellent news, especially after your recent hub/MOT outlays. Always nice when one finally goes your way. Best regards,
