Just managed to bag a pair of RRS Brembo front calipers. Will they fit with the standard V8 caliper carriers and discs?
Also I am assuming they use the same brake hoses? 2006 TdV6 HSE.

They don’t need caliper carriers, the are “one piece” caliper and bolt on directly.
Same brake hoses you just need new copper washers. Jarrod

Brilliant.
So I just need new pads and V8 discs?
Have ordered new front brake hoses as advisory on last Mot that the blocks were a bit rusty. 2006 TdV6 HSE.

I'm a bit confused now. V8 discs are listed as 338mm but the RRS discs with Brembo calipers are listed as 360mm.
Which ones do I need? 2006 TdV6 HSE.

If ordering from advanced factors go on the Range Rover sport section then brembo brakes. They will be the correct discs. They are huge ! You need 19” wheels minimum. Also need the correct back plates as they are not big enough Jarrod

Been looking around and it seems that it is the 360mm I need. Mtec discs are £90 a pair for grooved and drilled and yet the smaller discs for the V8 and £110. How does that work?
I have used Mtec discs before and always been impressed.
Managed to find the back plates for a good price too. 2006 TdV6 HSE.

How much has it all cost you for calipers, discs and backing plates if you don’t mind me asking as I’d like to do the same
Cheers

£200 for the calipers which came with as new brembo discs and pads from a breaker on eBay. I put the offer in expecting a no and he accepted. Typically £250 for calipers upwards. There’s a couple of sets on the for sale section. Back plates etc on advanced factors website. £34 each ? Approx before discount. Jarrod

Thanks. I’ll have a look. I’ve been told I’ll need to replace at least one of my front calipers, both discs when my pads need doing so might as well try and get Brembos instead. 6 pot would be amazing.

Got the calipers for £139 and back plates for £20 each. The discs are £90 on Mtec brakes and found the pads for about £30. 2006 TdV6 HSE.

If you get 6 pot Brembos then you need 20” alloys as they don’t fit under anything less.
The 4 pots need 19s to fit under, or the 18” Compomotive alloys.
I have yellowstuff pads and drilled and groved discs on my 4pots with V8 rear upgrades.
I needed new pads and discs and a front callipers so I had the lot changed.
I’ve ran mine for nearly 5 years without the back plates, I wouldn’t bother with them.

I have D4 HSE 20 inch Alloys on my D3 and have already upgraded to V8 brakes front and back but still think they could be better so looking at doing Brembos. Will probably end up being 4 pots but really want 6 pots if I could get them for a decent price.
