Need a damn good clean up. Thats a 16" wiper blade underneath just to give an idea of the size of them for those who haven't seen them up close before.
I can’t see the harmonic dampers, unless it’s just the angle of the photo.

They are there. It's just the angle of the picture.
Got a bit of a dilemna. Stripped one of them down today. Have ordered a new seal kit. Scrubbed to within an inch of ots life then two coats of paint so far. My issue is there is some flaking of the coating on the top of the pistons but only down to and in the groove where the seal sits. Do I just clean up and give a couple of coats of vht paint or replace the pistons?2006 TdV6 HSE.

First caliper done and ready to be fitted. Haven't started the other one yet. Will hopefully fit them over the bank holiday weekend.2006 TdV6 HSE.

A bit gutted. Got started on the other one and have had to back track and sand them both down as the paint finish was looking really poor and the paint I was using became more of a pain with each coat added and seemd to pull off some of the previous coats even after being left for 24 hours between them. So off to buy some spray paint and hopefully vht lacquer tomorrow after work and get cracking again.
Tempted to get some Smoothrite instead of caliper paint. Plus some silver for the new disc bells so they hopefully stay looking nice.2006 TdV6 HSE.

That’s gutting ! What paint did you use ? I’ve used smoothrite in the past on brakes and never had an issue.
Also used that 2 part caliper stuff halfrauds sell that worked well also.Jarrod

It was a tin of brush on Halfords red caliper paint. Wont be using their spray version either as both have 50/50 mixed reviews.2006 TdV6 HSE.

Could not find a spray can of Smoothrite red anywhere so opted for a brush on tin. One coat later and they both look a million times better than the 5 coats of the halfrauds rubbish.
Also picked up a tin of hammer finish silver for the disc bells. May start on them tomorrow.2006 TdV6 HSE.

I used the smoothrite spray years ago on my D1 for a few bits. It was crap. Needed about 40 layers to be anywhere near 1 coat of brush on. Jarrod
