they do, that's why I did it

You'll need an extra couple of relays if you want the full beam flash to work, but there's a few threads on that

the old units have two light sources, the new units are single source with a flap inside

If you just plug and play the flash and full beam works fine - but only if the main beam is already on. You'll hear the relay trigger the flap and the full beam icon will come on the dash, but nothing will happen up front.

The extra relay is needed to trigger the actual light source

I was caught out by it to, but after someone else pointed it out there are a few threads covering it... including mine I think

As I wrote, my previous MY2011 was better than my new XXV.....

The old one had Bi-Xenon AND halogen (LED in my case) highbeam, MY2014-ON only Bi-Xenon... Big Cry

I know what the difference is And not too bothered about if the high beam is brighter it’s anout the looks as the amount of times I would actually use high beam is so small

So does it just need a relay to make my lights flash

I often thought that an interesting mod would be to take the new lights, move the indicator to where the cornering lamp is usually, then install a projector beam / LED headlight in the location where the indicator currently is located. I am sure it could be done by someone handier than me on these things.

These are the lights I brought and says has cornering lights

Hi guys,

I'm currently looking for a Riverside head light and the part number of my head light is the same as the one you have referenced (Right side: EH22-13W029-GD)

I wanted to know what the "GD" stood for and if I could use lights with similar part numbers such as Right side: EH22-13W029-DD?

many thanks

Can higher power bulbs not be put in

Unfortunately, no. If you use let`s say 50w bulbs, they might burn out reflectors much quicker and then you are stuffed - use any bulb, there will be no light on the road - replace whole headlight or break open, send off reflector to be rechromed, put it back - expensive and painful.

I've just gone from 2013 Xenons to post 2014 Xenons just for the signature strips, as we do far more driving during the day

If you want high quality light go for the pre-face lift Xenon lights as they have 2 light sources within the headlight, one for dipped and one for main beam. The face lift lights are one source with a flap that opens for full beam. I have to admit I was really disappointed with the light output considering they're supposed to be more modern Rolling Eyes

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but just for educational purposes...

If the pre-face lift xenons are fitted to a 2012MY, will that give fairy light DRL's and halogen full beam then?

I've got a 12 plate with the bog standard lights. I too like the look of the DRL's but there's no way I want to shell out £800 notes on lights and change the grill/wings/bonnet/whatever else is needed.

However, I bet the pre face lift xenons are probably like hens teeth.

Any mods required or would it be a straight swap?

should be straight swap but CCF edit needed to stop flickering on start-up.

beware of LHD units being sold on eBay ... although in theory they would be fine, just giving the "flat" beam pattern if you flick the lever. However, not had that confirmed by anyone fitting them.

Cheers Hardware Thumbs Up

I could stretch to a pair of the pre face lift xenons, but doubt I could be bothered to swap to 2014 on.

Is there a product code or some way of differentiating between each model of lights?
