Mis Fuel (Was - Just broken down in pouring rain)
Just got on to M62 when display gave loads of faults, F on gears, gearbox fault, engine fault, suspension fault all appeared. Managed to limp to Tarbock island roundabout where it ran out of steam. Engine stopped with loads of clicking. Just rang Green Flag. Any thoughts folks? Turns over but won't start. Light all working OK. When I turn key does system check but doesn't register any issues, but won't start.2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey with Ebony Leather, towing a Coachman VIP 575

Engine stopped with lots of clicking? Was that clicking relays or mechanical clicking from engine?

OK. Whose a silly boy then. Filled up with Unleaded. My excuse is that it was throwing it down when I stopped to fill up 2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey with Ebony Leather, towing a Coachman VIP 575

Ouch.... we all feel for you....
So so easily done.... I am the paranoid one on the pumps as we have a mini fleet of different vehicles that use diesel, super diesel, unleaded and super unleaded...

Oh That's bad news.
Good news is that with all these engines with snapped cranks and turned bearings, there should be some decent Injectors, HP Pumps and tank pumps going second hand now.

But for the grace of gods go most of us. I've only done it once, only 5l in my D2 then filled up with 70ltrs of diesel from the same pumps. I wasn't that popular at that French supermarket.

What will need to happen now to get it back on the road apart from the obvious (draining the tank ) ?The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;

Some motor insurance policies include cover for repairs following misfueling

I think my used D3 had been run with petrol, new in tank pump, new high pressure pump and injectors and total flush off all the fuel lines and tank to try and remove any metal debris.
