I have two angle brackets (for a foxwing) that need fitting to my Front Runner Windcheetah rack.
At the moment the brackets are pre-drilled with holes to accommodate M6 bolts but the heads of these are too small to fit the T-Track system.
I know I could drill the holes to make them bigger but the brackets wouldn't then fit back onto the trailer. Is it therefore possible to purchase bolts with the thread of an M6 but the hex head of an M8?

M6 pan heads have a head dia of 12mm , presume you are looking for 13mm AF for the T Track.

Narpy: I thought about a washer but wondered if I'd get enough purchase to tighten it unless I use a locking washer.
L319: The hex head of the bolts I have are 10mm and I need 13mm as you stated.

A fixing into a tapped hole ?
Drill out the clearance hole (which won't be that much larger)
Then drill & tap the hole foe M8
If it's a bolted connection (bolt hoding through two clearance holes) & its the actual diameter of the shoulder of fastener ? You could explore different fasteners at either 6mm or 8mm
These won't be at B&Q or despite the name Screwfix.
Look around you for an engineering fasteners outlet (don't know just where you live)
If they sell capscrews & Torx they may have something on the shelf. Maybe need to pop in & look.
We do this all the time with repairs to bits of obscure kit & have been lucky
When we need a small quantity (which you dont) we get the local GKN rep involved....& he's dies just that bringing us in some cases samples of really obscure - maybe a bespoke fasterner for somewhere else.
It's rare we take a standard fastener & adapt.
+ we keep all the daft screws we come across in an archives & backnumbers box that's shared with springs. Old fashioned way - yes, but you'd be surprised at some fixes we have done.
Usually to Co Directors gramophones & vintage lawnmowers.
Hope that helps.BREXIT - done properly.

Don't think the flange head will cut it. You need the shape of the hex in the track to enable the bolt/nut combo to be tightened/loosened.Front Runner Rack, OEM Ladder & RAI, Tuff-Trek Foxwing, B'rakhah Ingonyama Expedition Trailer, RLD's Spare Wheel Protector, Bodsy's Bars, Empty Pockets! Thanks but, for the reasons above, I don't think the flange surrounding the hex head will work.Front Runner Rack, OEM Ladder & RAI, Tuff-Trek Foxwing, B'rakhah Ingonyama Expedition Trailer, RLD's Spare Wheel Protector, Bodsy's Bars, Empty Pockets! It would be a shame to drill into the rack but what I could do is find somewhere with a bench drill and ask them to drill new 8mm holes between the existing 6mm ones in the bracket? I then have the best of both worlds!

I was going to suggest extra holes for the 8mm fixing but you beat me to it.
if you don't do that and you really, really want non-standard bolts and can't find them near you there's a weird little shop in Salford that has everything - or it seems that way - and sell in small quantities, which is also useful ... Barry & Sons
i'm sure they could post them to you ... if not, and assuming they have something, pm me and i'll see if I can get them for you next time i'm passing there..
