Torque 'builds' 200 rpm lower with approximately 30lbft greater than the manufacturers original intended at the same rpm.
We can improve throttle response because we know where the settings are in the engine maps unlike others tuners who do not..that is the turbochip difference...we go a little further that most tuners because we 'tune' engines and do not just turn the fuel up like other so called tuners

Does this cure the hang that you get when pulling away a roundabouts sometimes, is this what you mean by throttle response? Sorry to sound stupid, its just because I am DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Pelyma, can I ask a question about the roundabout situation. Do you ease the throttle down or gun it down? By ease, in my terms that is progress it down. You have an auto box don't you?

Not a nerd, but I think it 'could' be the ecu trying to react in the way it is supposed to do. Because it has mapping for off road and needs some tlc occassionally, the big boot may not be allowed for a second. Then it simply says, no go on traction, so power by the bucket load. Then you get away. Bad description, but hope it gets the point over.

I think I understand! Do you think the throttle response bit mentioned above is this? My mate has a Cherokee (pah) the first of the new shape did it, but the latest revised version doesn't. I was hoping that this maybe a way round it.

Yes, he is a lucky guy, he also has a wife from Odesse. Re the throttle response, yes sort of. I think in the D3 it will be different to the Jeep because the D3 can tow a greater weight, this is also relevant.

Following the earlier comments on low-end improvements:
Superchips graphs show good improvements across the whole rpm range on the RR TD6.
But on the D3 TDV6, they show virtually no increases up to about 2500rpm.
You comment that the power kicks in a bit earlier, but what about the 1000 - 2500 band?

We manage to improve 'low end' power and response by altering injector timing (when and how often the injector fires in an engine cycle) and not just duration (length of time injector is open) like other tuning companies so we can gain additional torque where others cannot

Top Gear are generally only interested in pure 'how fast will it go' power though. Both the D3 and RRS are already more than capable of breaking the speed limits in many countries, but better acceleration without reduced fuel consumotion would be handy occasionally
Perhaps a towing or hill climbing test of some sort would give a good idea of torque and 'low down grunt' increases which are probably of greater interest to many of us here

I know TC advertise on the site, but I did ask if they would bring their D3 to Rockingham, giving them plenty of notice for the 7th Aug and they said yes. A couple of days before the 7th Aug I was told they were not able to bring the car after all.
The question now is come on lads, the 18th September at Rockingham, plenty of notice. You know the course is non damaging and you have seen what we do from the gallery. Bring it down and lets see it climb 'Saddle Rock', especially if its wet, then I will be convinced, please
If you do not have the D3 and have a RRS, it is the same and has basically the same set up, we can put up with a bit of bling to try.
Give it to me and I will look after it, if you cannot attend.
