Well I blanked the valves prior to Tuesday's remap and set off for a quick spin .... but frustratingly it was far from quick. There's absolutely no change, still flat as a pancake below about 2500 rpm. After that it goes like a rocket though when I change up and the revs drop back to 2500/3000 there's a delay before it takes off again.
EML is off though dash says engine fault and when I checked the P140A is there.
Should I have expected an immediate improvement ? and should the egr's still be wired in or disconnected ? or could it be down to somethingelse ?

It shouldn't be that flat below 2500rpm. Certainly not enough to make a big difference.
Probably already suggested, but will be either turbo, turbo actuator sticking EGR's (Yes I know you have blanked them0 you did remove the butterfly?
And sort it before the remap and that won't make any real difference if there are faults in placeMark.

Yes the butterfly is out, only fault codes are epb or egr related. When the turbo comes in at 2500/2700 its off like the rocket I hoped it would be but below that it just feels like the throttle is a pointless extra ... my old navara would pick away quickly and smoothly from 1500 rpm in any gear. Maybe I just haven't noticed there's a 10 ton trailer on the back! I'll look at the actuator but I'd have thought if that was the issue it would be across all revs.

Check that fuse 17 is present and good in the engine bay fuse box.
I'll look at the actuator but I'd have thought if that was the issue it would be across all revs.
No. It's a variable vane turbo - depends where its stuck - but could be in a position that doesn't work well at low revs and does at high revs. You wouldn't get a fault code necessarily either.Mark.
