Blank them and see you shouldn't need a patch on a MY56 I know I didn't.
On a different note I came from a Nav and found the D3 to be better on the pickup Stephen

7A needs blanked and patched
Thanks, is it the same blanking kit as the earlier engines ? I think I'll blank asap and get to the patch when I either manage to understand the techno/I.T side of doing it or get the chance to take it to someone. I can live with resetting the light in the short term. Am I right in thinking that if I blank then the restored power benefits will be there without the patch, but the EML will be a pain until its patched ?

Blanking without the patch can cause much bigger issues than just the lack of power
You may be lucky, as others have, but in some cases it can make the car undriveable...My D3 Build Thread
My EGRs lasted 120,000 before one needed replacing. Rather than messing around blanking and patching, why not just fit replacement EGRs? They'll probably outlive the car

I think my first EGR went at ~30k, eventually both replaced twice by ~80k then blanked. No problem since and on 156k. Must be that clean Dorset air.
Compared to my previous LR product s the D3 is a bloody rocket
Strange as I drove a pathfinder same as your old D40 in essence that was disappointing and slow of the mark
Stick it in sports as suggested .Nice
