you do need 2 smallish soldering irons for a SM LED.
and a delicate steady hand, luck and experience

None of which I have.
It only affects the left side of the speedo & high beam light, they don't tend to use the car at night but with evening visits to hospital (very limited D4 parking) it was getting a bit difficult. Speedometer app on the idog&bone with phone in the dash recess sorted it but thought I could fix it properly.

Plenty flux, good solder, untarnished components and just do one side at a time. I often use a butane torch for small SMD stuff rather than my soldering iron, so no steady hand required.

Reminds me of an episode of dragons den years ago where they were pitching a car help line service. Peter Jones went through a few example calls with them which all ended with, "it could be this or maybe this, we advise you to take it to a mechanic" Unanimous reply was "I'm out"

You can always make your own soldering iron, with an old glow plug and a bit of copper bar, however I am more than willing to loan you one of mine
I should add, a delicate hand may be benificial
