I drove 770 miles from Alpes D'huez to Dorset. Through, blizzard, shine and rain and she didn't miss a beat, although my heart did when refuelling once again this side of the channel!! No aches or pains, just three restless kids.
Skiing was awesome! French autoroutes seem to work so much better than ours. Plenty of D3s, including a car transporter with 6 Silver D3s, c/w roof tents and a 110 spotted on the E6, near Lyon. Where were they going?

Today I drove to work ALTERNATIVES...............No alternatives for off-road capability.
If you want Surrey plush, go for a Range Rover. If you want Manchester bling it's the Range Rover Sport. But if it's a seven-seat, go anywhere 4x4, it's time to Disco.

I left home this afternoon and I drove the D3 from Rochester, Kent to Reading, to Warrington, to Manchester, to Leeds and every mile was an absolute pleasure .
Saw lots of D3s but no stickers. The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us yet.

Re: What did you do in your Disco3 today?

I drove to my office and gave the keys to the chap from the leasing company who took it way to put the summer tyres on (after the non-existent winter) and he returned the car after a thorough clean inside and out. It looks just like new - which is nice.

I spent all day cleaning Bluey from top to bottom and finally fitting the body side mouldings I bought last Oct. I hate the way all the little scratches and things show up but from a distance she looks great.1993 Defender 110 300tdi - many mods

Today I have mostly been trying steering and braking whilst the engine was off.
What Father Jack says when he's not saying Girls or Drink!
I was moving at ~5MPH but I felt all sorts of old rugby muscles powering up for the first time in decades just to change direction a bit. This really required a lot of concentration and effort, and as expected even more effort required as the speed reduced.
As I still had about 100 feet of gentle slope left to play with and no cars or people about, I tried braking once the vacuum reserve had exhausted. This really does require the right leg of a soviet shot-putter to bring the car to a stop even at these low speeds. Thank heavens I used to leg press 200Kg at the gym.
So, a big thumbs up to power steering and brake servos I'm happy to be reminded exactly how much behind the scenes work goes into making my permagrin, and to be aware of what will be required of me in an emergency.
Disclaimer. Doing this is nuts, and if you decide to try this with the key out then you must be equipped with Brazil grade.
Key in position 2 with all the lights on in the dash means the steering lock is disabled and you can use the Parking brake and/or start the engine quickly if required.Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."

Err ... so are you nuts ... or bored ... or perhaps you were checking to see if the factory had fitted a steering lock?

Yes, I too had my most expensive fill up ever today - €111,97 for 83 litres (€1.34,9 per litre = £1.08 ).
Not quite as bad as in Britain but nevertheless - ugh
