Went up to Mansfield (Victoria Australia) for a "Get A Room" weekend with SWMBO & a bit of a thrash around "Man From Snowy River" country.
Saw heaps of Land Rovers From an old series (with a wooden flat tray back) to the real Estate agents coiler D3, a chawton SE NSW reg & a local WAG in a buck blue beauty.
Had a chat with a couple of blokes who looked like they had had FUN in their beasts:
For those that went on the Mt Terrible trip, in March last year, these guys had done almost the same trip. The tracks must be a little wetter now. Did you think I would leave you crying,
When there's room in my D3 for 7,
Climb in here Joe we'll soon be flying,
I can go just as fast with 7.

Sh*t hit the fan at work over the weekend
Forced to do a round trip to Newport yesterday - 360 miles of easy cruising - oh and the Cruise Control didn't let me down once (slightly annoying as its going for its 2nd service in a couple of weeks and it was on my list of things to look at)Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Attempted to recover a Parcel Force van stuck in about a foot of snow, but failed . This happened on a minor road between the A68 & the A7 South of Edinburgh. The van was truly beached at 45 degrees to the road. Managed to pull him straight but couldn't get him back to the shallower snow. Luckily the son of a local farmer showed up on a quad bike and set off to get a tractor.
Of course the D3 was faultless on the snow itself.

A nice easy day on a building site valeting the inside of this little beastie. Technically not today but just downloaded my camera.

Drove to work and back. Made a nice change I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Put my wave ski on the roof racks and drove to the beach,
caught waves for 2 hours (water temp = 23deg air temp 32 deg) just fantastic
and then drove homePete
Used to have a Zappa wave ski, then a Mega Jester surf kayak. Last kayak was a Pyranha i3 that set the waves alight... it rocked! I suspect I'd sink it at the moment.
I went mountain-biking today. When we set off it was -4 and when we got back it had reached the giddy heights of +2 in the shade. Stopped after 10 miles to thaw out with a coffee and bacon sandwich then put another 12 miles in before a cup of tea and some cake beckoned. The last 7 miles went by without additional sustenance.
Met the guys from FoDRoW (a 4x4 rights of way group) on one ascent, traveling a byway that has been closed for years because the land owner kept it locked. Dorset council finally obtained a judgement, so the route is now open. Off to try it tomorrow if weather permits. Don't want to take the pee and drive the byway in the piddling rain as any damage to the terrain will soon be leapt upon by the land owner. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Took a drive to Horton Vinyard Saturday for a little 'tasting' then for a little SWMBO training yesterday
I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?
