So had a spare afternoon today (don’t tell the boss) so decided to get on with the rear ARB bushes as they’re the easy ones …..right?.
As far as access went they were the easiest, but every bolt was rusted on, and having spent an hour and a half trying to release the last bolt on the stabiliser arm I ended up getting the angle grinder out and VERY CAREFULLY getting it between the hub and the brake pipes managed to cut the offending bolt off.

So took me over 3 hours to do the one “easy” corner.
Not sure if it’s down to the corrosion or not but the new ones look thicker and more substantial.
Still got the drivers side rear to do…maybe tomorrow 2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

Yesterday I removed the air compressor to replace the dryer cap and desiccant, and also rebuild the exhaust valve. I think the exhaust valve has been leaking down because the compressor would run for about a minute if the car sat 24hours, minimal leak down on struts (rebuilt those valves already).
Well, it looks like someone had already “repaired” the dryer cap. I’ve replaced it with an aluminum one.
The compressor has some writing on it that makes me think it may have come from a junkyard.
*Update: I’ve since found many photos of compressors with such writing on them, I believe from the factory.
I already had to replace the front/rear valve blocks because they installed cheap Chinese blocks which leaked and had non-functioning crossover valves.
Got a C1131 fault upon startup. I’d only finger tightened on of the lines Got it tightened up and the compressor ran away for minutes while it rebuilt 5L of ~260psi air in the reservoir. I now only have a small leak in the gallery pipe between the dryer and exhaust valve block, coming from the new push-fit connectors in the dryer cap. Since this is only under pressure when the compressor runs, I think it’s acceptable? Certainly not ideal, but it’s not going to cause the reservoir to leak from what I can make out.
Thoughts?

New windscreen just been fitted by National Windscreens.
Proper, Pilkington heated screen fitted.
Just as well I phoned them to check what the screen was or else it would have been a standard non-heated green tinted screen.
Add that to the timing belt and a few other bits done last week, and the new MoT certificate.
Thanks to Disco Mike for the above!

Drivers seat base
Swapped out the drivers seat base for a second hand NS one.
No more rip and heater pad now also working so bid bonus there
Only thing was the swapped out base had 3 electrical connection blocks assuming the 3rd one was for a pressure sensor.

Weirder up and fitted new spot lights today, tied into the same wiring as my existing light bar.
Anyone have a recommendation for a replacement bulb for the high beams? Only light that’s a horrible yellow now.

update!, MOT passed without warnings followed. Curious fact, never in my many inspections, I heard an inspector praise the interesting features of the D3, so much so that he urged a colleague to visit his inspection pit to see and enjoy one, according to him, of the last true 4x4 on the earth, and not, as he literally said to his colleague, one of those ML or X-series trinkets that you like so much and that are really simple luxury cars disguised as suvs, it is say it is a magnificent 4x4 of which There is no longer and there never will be... he was a young guy, not very knowledgeable about cars, I remind you that here MOTs are in the hands of independent services that do not represent brands or workshops, they do not have market services! then, happy days!
p.d.! I was going to go this week to order my new €100K Defender, all postponed”🥴🤪🤪lost in translation!
