Changed engine air and cabin air filters. The cabin filter was surprisingly dirty. Changed front and rear wipers, too.

Managed to do a well overdue complete service and install the V8 brake upgrade from AF on the front and new ceramic pads on the rear.
Pretty easy when you access to a car lift at a friends garage.
Had a probelm with the Britpart fuel filter though. It wouldn't start afterwards. Reused the old filter and it started. Ordered another via the garage that I was using and that worked, after clearing some codes via the OBDii tool.
Not sure what that was about?2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey (UK)

Did you switch the ignition on for 30 seconds three times to bleed the air outof the filter before you tried starting it?

Yep. I did this. And after an initial start up, it cut out.
Tried a few time same thing. And nothing.
When i put the old filter back in and did the same I felt the vibration in the filter of the pump, pumping.
After it started and was running, when the replacement filter arrived, we changed again and it did the same thing. The garage diagnostic cleared codes and she started. This didnt happen when we tried the same with the original replacement filter!
Really not sure what happened!!2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey (UK)

Most likely air trapped in the system, these cars are really fussy on filters

Yep.
Never had this before. I've seen the different posts on various OEM versus other filters but never experienced until today!!
The disc and caliper carrier upgrade was sweet, oil and other filters no btoher!!
Just this bloody diesel filter!!
Anyways. All good now. Just nursing a bit of spanner rash from changing the brake sensor and boxing with the bloody rims when I was putting them back on!!2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey (UK)

I haven’t done anything too exciting or strenuous, but I have finally added my Disco3.co.uk sticker!
If anyone sees me around be sure to give me a little friendly wave!

Rear brake pads today, pretty straightforward.
Now one of the rear passenger doors won't open If it's not one thing it's another!

Front upper arms, rear upper arms and new rubber brake lines all round. Done in 8 hours with a professional mechanic working in parallel (arms were factory originals from 2005).
Rear uppers were a pain. I got the nuts off on the side obscured by the body mounts using an induction heater, but couldn't pry out the bolts. Initially we used a 125mm angle grinder but soon moved to the 230mm grinder. Both with slim cutting disc. It was sketchy but effective. 18v reciprocating saw would have got there eventually but I think if you want to rely on one of these buy the best blades that exist. (which I hadn't done).
Body-off had been planned but work commitments prevented this, so going the longer route for various jobs which should at least be less stressful. (Mechanic reckons he/we can do the crossover pipe body-on)
I cost us 2 man hours in cluster relating to the front rubber brake line bracket bolt. I cracked it, turned it numerous times, and thought I had got it. And then the bolt sheared! I failed to back and forwards it! So I drilled it out enough to put in an extractor tool. Which bit, turned it, and then snapped! So I eventually drilled that out. mechanic took over. Drilled it out to accept a tap. Which then broke! So eventually we drilled that out. By the time we (he) was done there was enough original threat to snug the bolt up. The hole was all the way through by design, to let the corrosion in, but there was room enough on the other side for a washer and a nyloc nut!
Cost £560 in garage and mechanic time plus cost of arms and brake lines.
